DUG Glashütte has given its Purist collection a more compact footprint, and the change suits the watch’s restrained character.
The new Purist 37 keeps the practical, Saxon-minded formula of the original model while moving from a 40mm case to a 37mm case, opening the line to wrists and tastes that favour more traditional proportions.
It’s also a broader launch than a simple size reduction, with two dial layouts, three colours, optional date and a choice of leather strap or steel bracelet.

At a glance
- DUG Glashütte has introduced the Purist 37, a smaller 37mm edition of its stainless-steel Purist watch.
- The range includes Typ 1 baton-marker and Typ 2 Arabic-numeral dials, three dial colours and optional date at 6 o’clock.
- Pricing starts at EUR 1,199 on leather, with the steel bracelet and date function each adding EUR 100.
A more wearable Purist case
The Purist 37 uses a three-piece stainless-steel case measuring 37mm across, 10.35mm thick and 43.9mm lug to lug.
Those numbers put it in a useful middle ground, compact enough for smaller wrists but not styled as a vintage miniature.
The case mixes brushed and polished surfaces, with a diamond-shaped fluted crown giving the otherwise clean profile a more distinctive touch.

A slightly domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides sits over the dial, while a sapphire display back opens the view to the automatic movement.
Water resistance is rated to 100 metres, which keeps the watch firmly in everyday territory rather than limiting it to dress-watch duty.
Two dial personalities and three colours
DUG Glashütte is offering the Purist 37 in two dial styles.

Typ 1 is the more minimal version, using applied baton markers for a simple and modern look.
Typ 2 leans more traditional with Arabic numerals, giving the same case a noticeably different character without changing the fundamentals.
Both versions can be ordered with or without a date window at 6 o’clock, and the date disc is matched to the dial colour for a cleaner integration.

The colour selection covers Onyx Black, Moon White and Royal Blue, each with a textured surface.
Applied markers and luminous hands and indices use Super-LumiNova BG W9, a practical detail that keeps the pared-back design from becoming too precious.
Glashütte finishing at an accessible price
Inside the Purist 37 is the DUG 200 automatic movement, which uses Sellita SW 200 architecture and is finished and decorated in Glashütte, Saxony.

The finishing includes hand-applied Glashütte perlage, finished bridges and plates, and screws with a blue surface treatment.
Through the sapphire back, the openworked rotor adds a more decorative note with 24k gold plating and a tungsten weight.
The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 40-hour power reserve.

It’s a familiar technical foundation, but DUG’s added finishing gives the watch a stronger link to the Glashütte tradition that defines the brand’s identity.

The Purist 37 feels like the more focused version of DUG Glashütte’s opening idea, pairing modest sizing with enough configuration choices to avoid feeling narrow.
For buyers who want a compact German automatic with clean design, useful water resistance and visible Glashütte finishing without moving into rarefied pricing, this is a quietly compelling addition.
