The Hermès Cape Cod has always had a quietly unconventional streak.
Designed by Henri d’Origny and introduced in 1991, it places a square dial inside a rectangular case, with lugs that echo the form of an anchor-chain link.
The new Cape Cod Titanium keeps that visual signature intact, but shifts the mood with a lighter, more utilitarian case material and a dial treatment that leans confidently sporty.

At a glance
- Hermès has introduced a titanium version of the Cape Cod, giving the 1991 design a more athletic character.
- The watch features a satin-brushed titanium case, luminous Arabic numerals and hands, and a textured grey dial layout.
- It is powered by the self-winding Hermès H1912 calibre and is offered with four leather strap colours.
A sharper take on the Cape Cod shape
The Cape Cod’s appeal comes from the way it plays with proportion rather than complication.
Its defining idea is still present here, with a square dial framed by a rectangular case whose extended form recalls a chain link.
In titanium, that familiar architecture feels less dressy and more direct.

The satin-brushed case measures 33 x 41 x 10.36 mm and is water-resistant to 100 metres, giving the watch a practical edge beyond its design pedigree.
Grey textures and luminous details
Hermès uses the natural grey tone of titanium as the starting point for the watch’s monochrome character.
The dial builds on that with layered finishing, pairing a sandblasted central surface with a satin-brushed hour chapter.

The Arabic numerals use the Cape Cod’s distinctive typeface and are coated with Super-LumiNova, as are the baton-shaped hands.
An orange direct-drive element cuts through the grey palette, adding a small but deliberate flash of colour.
The date sits discreetly at 6 o’clock, keeping the composition balanced rather than crowded.
The H1912 automatic movement
Inside the Cape Cod Titanium is the Hermès H1912 calibre, a self-winding movement that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Hermès states a power reserve of at least 45 hours, which suits the watch’s everyday brief.
The watch is completed with a leather strap in abyss blue, black, Naples yellow or orange, letting the owner move between cooler restraint and a more summery hit of colour.

The Cape Cod Titanium works because it doesn’t try to reinvent one of Hermès’ most recognisable watch designs.
Instead, it gives that geometry a lighter case, stronger everyday credentials and just enough colour to keep the mood relaxed.
