Where the brand’s early success leaned into playful chronograph design, its field watch proved there was more range behind the name.

A tighter take on the Studio Underd0g field watch
The 02SERIES arrived in 2023 as an important second act for Studio Underd0g, translating the brand’s irreverent design language into a compact mechanical field watch.
Gen2 doesn’t try to turn that idea into something unfamiliar.
Instead, it focuses on proportion, legibility and mechanical usefulness, which is exactly where a field watch update should spend its energy.
The stainless steel case remains 37.5mm across, a size that suits the model’s modest tool-watch stance and keeps it well away from oversized nostalgia.
The case thickness is now 11.5mm, down from 12mm, helped by tighter tolerances and the brand’s in-house assembly at the D0ghouse.
It’s not a dramatic reduction on paper, but on a small watch, half a millimetre can change how the case settles under a cuff.
Water resistance stays at 100 metres, giving the watch the practical confidence expected of the genre.
The dial changes are small but meaningful
The most considered update sits on the dial.
Studio Underd0g has moved the railway minute track inward, away from the outermost edge of the domed sapphire crystal.
That matters because domed crystals can distort markings near the perimeter at normal viewing angles, particularly when a minute scale sits too far outboard.
By pulling the track closer to the centre, the display should read more cleanly at a glance.
The rest of the layout has been recalibrated around that change, including shorter hands that better suit the revised proportions.
The dial text has also been reduced from three inscriptions to two.
“Assembled in Great Britain” now sits below the central hands, while the former “Mechanical Hand-Winding” line has been removed.
That’s a sensible edit, not just an aesthetic one.

Four colours with two distinct personalities
The Gen2 line-up consists of four watches.
Pink Lem0nade and Steffany Blue return from the first generation, keeping their full-lume displays and vivid, sweet-shop character.
The new arrivals are Red L0lly and Nightshade, which take a different route.
Both use a sunray-brushed base with a tinted sapphire crystal to intensify the colour, an approach that gives the dials more depth than a flat painted surface.
Red L0lly is the louder of the two, with a crimson fumé effect that lands firmly in Studio Underd0g’s playful territory.
Nightshade is moodier, combining a darker blue tone with red accents for a more nocturnal feel.
The strap choices are equally specific.
Pink Lem0nade comes on Coffee Bean suede, Steffany Blue on Midnight black suede, Red L0lly on black Pueblo leather with cream stitching and Nightshade on Burgundy Gaucho leather with cream stitching.
All four straps are tapered and made by The Strap Tailor, keeping a British craft element in the package.
Quick-change spring bars make it easy to swap them, which is useful because this is the sort of watch many owners will inevitably personalise.
A longer-running hand-wound Sellita movement
The most substantial technical change is the move to the Sellita SW200-2 M Power+ calibre.
The previous generation used a 42-hour SW210, while the new movement raises the reserve to 63 hours.
That extra 21 hours gives the watch a more forgiving rhythm in real use.
Leave it on the dresser over the weekend and it’s less likely to need resetting before Monday, which is a practical improvement rather than a spec-sheet flourish.
The calibre runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz, and displays hours, minutes and seconds.
For a watch at this price, the longer reserve also helps strengthen the case for Studio Underd0g as more than a design-led microbrand.
The visual identity still comes first, but the mechanical side now feels better matched to the watch’s everyday brief.
Pricing and position in the collection
The 02SERIES Gen2 is priced at £875.
That’s a £75 increase over the previous £800 pricing, and the added movement reserve, cleaner dial construction and slimmer case make the rise easy to understand.
It also keeps the model below Studio Underd0g’s more expensive releases, including the 03SERIES at £1,750 and the Christopher Ward collaboration at £2,995.
That positioning matters.
The 02SERIES Gen2 sits in a sweet spot for buyers who want the brand’s distinctive visual language without moving into the higher end of its catalogue.
