Girard-Perregaux has added a warmer, more tactile expression to the Laureato line with the Laureato Chronograph in Chocolate, a limited 42mm chronograph pairing 904L stainless steel with rose gold details and a deep brown hobnail dial.
The watch keeps the recognizable Laureato formula intact, but shifts its mood away from the cooler steel-and-blue language often associated with integrated-bracelet sports watches.
A warmer take on the Laureato case
The Laureato has been part of Girard-Perregaux’s catalog since 1975, and its identity still rests on the tension between an octagonal bezel and a tonneau-shaped case.
Here, the 904L steel case is contrasted by rose gold on the bezel, crown and chronograph pushers, giving the watch a richer profile without abandoning the architectural shape that defines the collection.
Chocolate Clous de Paris across dial and strap
The dial is the center of the watch’s character, using a brown Clous de Paris pattern that adds depth without relying on a sunburst finish or gradient effect.
Matching brown subdials keep the chronograph layout visually cohesive, while rose-gilt baton markers and hands pick up the tone of the bezel and controls.
Girard-Perregaux extends the same hobnail texture to the integrated rubber strap, an effective choice that makes the strap feel like part of the design rather than a casual substitute for a bracelet.
The GP03300 automatic chronograph inside
The Laureato Chronograph in Chocolate is powered by Girard-Perregaux’s in-house GP03300 automatic chronograph movement, visible through a sapphire caseback.
The movement offers a minimum 46-hour power reserve, which places the watch comfortably in everyday-wear territory despite the more decorative two-tone execution.
Limited to 50 pieces at 26000 dollars
Production is limited to 50 pieces, with pricing set at $26,000.
That positioning makes this Laureato a narrow-target release, best suited to collectors who already appreciate the model’s 1970s integrated-case language but want something warmer and less expected than a conventional steel chronograph.
With its brown dial, textured rubber strap and rose gold hardware, the Chocolate edition gives the Laureato Chronograph a distinct personality while staying close to the design codes that have kept the collection relevant for decades.
