Seiko is celebrating its 145th anniversary with two limited-edition Prospex divers that put the brand’s familiar blue-and-silver color language onto two very different case profiles.
The new Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver HBC005 and Prospex Samurai HBB001 are not radical departures from the core collection, but they do offer a clear contrast in character, movement specification and price.
The 1965 Heritage Diver HBC005 leans into the 62MAS lineage
The HBC005 uses Seiko’s modern 1965 Heritage Diver platform, the line inspired by the 62MAS, Seiko’s first dive watch.

It follows the refined case proportions introduced in 2024, with a 40mm stainless steel case, 13mm thickness and a 46.4mm lug-to-lug measurement.
The case and bracelet use Seiko’s super-hard coating, while the watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, screw-down caseback and 300 meters of water resistance.
The anniversary treatment is carried by a Seiko Blue aluminium bezel insert, a silver-white lightly brushed dial and a matching blue seconds hand.

A sharper Samurai with a two-tone bezel
The Prospex Samurai HBB001 takes the same anniversary palette in a more angular direction.
Its stainless steel case measures 41.7mm wide, 12.3mm thick and 49.5mm lug to lug, continuing the more compact Samurai proportions that arrived with the platform’s recent update.
The bezel insert combines a silver 0-to-15-minute section with Seiko Blue for the remaining scale, giving the watch a more technical visual split than the Heritage Diver.

The brushed silver dial is slightly darker in tone, with pointed raised markers and a blue seconds hand tying it back to the bezel.
Two movements and two price points
The HBC005 is powered by Seiko’s calibre 6R55, an automatic movement running at 3Hz with a 72-hour power reserve.
It is also equipped with the updated bracelet clasp that offers 15mm of micro-adjustment in six 2.5mm steps, operated through side pushers.

The Samurai HBB001 uses the calibre 4R35, Seiko’s proven automatic movement with a 3Hz beat rate and approximately 41 hours of power reserve.
It comes on a three-link steel bracelet with a conventional folding clasp and is fitted with a Hardlex crystal rather than sapphire.
Limited editions arriving in June 2026
The Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver HBC005 will be limited to 4,000 pieces worldwide and priced at EUR 1,500.
The Prospex Samurai HBB001 will be produced in a larger run of 9,999 pieces and priced at EUR 650.
Both watches are scheduled for worldwide availability from June 2026, giving collectors a choice between a more refined heritage diver with a stronger movement specification and a more accessible Samurai with a bolder case and bezel design.
