AMAALA Yacht Club has begun operations, giving Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast a serious new address for yacht owners, sailors and winter cruisers.
Set within AMAALA Marina Village, the club is designed to pull the region into the regular rhythm of global yachting rather than sit as a one-off resort amenity.
For owners looking beyond the familiar Mediterranean-to-Caribbean migration, it adds a strategically placed alternative with warm seasonal conditions, resort access and superyacht-scale infrastructure.

At a glance
- AMAALA Yacht Club has officially opened within AMAALA Marina Village on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.
- The marina offers 119 berths and can accommodate superyachts of more than 100 metres.
- The club is welcoming founding members and visiting yachts, with year-round cruising conditions and access to nearby luxury resorts.
A new winter base between the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean
Located around 2,000 nautical miles from Monaco, AMAALA is positioned closer to the Mediterranean than the Caribbean and offers a practical new winter option for yachts leaving Europe from October.
That geography matters.
The established seasonal migration has long pushed much of the fleet toward the Caribbean or Indian Ocean, but AMAALA gives owners and captains another route with direct access to the Saudi Red Sea and onward cruising toward the Indian Ocean.

The destination also benefits from a mild climate, with average seasonal temperatures of 26°C and average lows of 23°C.
For crew, guests and owners, that makes the marina more than a transit stop.
It has the conditions to become a place to linger.

Superyacht berths, club lounges and resort access
The marina has 119 berths and is able to host superyachts measuring more than 100 metres, placing it in the conversation with established European yachting destinations.
Marine services include fueling, with maintenance and repair facilities planned for the coming years.
Berthing and mooring fees are described as comparable with leading European yachting destinations, while owners securing permanent moorings receive selected privileges through partner resorts.

The yacht club itself spans 7,900 square metres and is intended as the social and operational heart of the marina community.
Inside, members and guests have access to AMAALA Lounge, ANQA, 27°C and The Deck, alongside a rooftop pool, private meeting suites and spaces for events and gatherings.
The wider AMAALA destination adds another layer, with access to newly opened properties including Four Seasons, Six Senses, Rosewood, Equinox and Nammos.

Two further resorts are scheduled to open in the coming months.
Sailing culture beyond the marina
AMAALA Yacht Club is also being built as a sailing venue, not simply a place to dock.
The AYC Academy will offer sailing programs and watersports experiences for different ages and skill levels, giving the club a participatory role in the growth of Saudi Arabia’s marine scene.

Its international ambitions are already clear.
The club will serve as a centerpiece for the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race 2027 and is set to host further international yachting events across the year.
That kind of programming is important for any new yachting destination trying to move from infrastructure to culture.

Regattas, academies and member events help create the repeat visits and community that turn a marina into a fixture on the sailing calendar.
Architecture shaped by the Red Sea coast
Designed by HKS Architects, the clubhouse takes cues from the sculpted rock formations of the surrounding coastline.
Its cantilevered terraces, maritime references and traditional Arabian architectural forms give the building a strong sense of place rather than a generic marina-club silhouette.

The club is also powered entirely by renewable energy, aligning it with Red Sea Global’s wider regenerative tourism model.
For a destination courting the global luxury fleet, that environmental stance is no longer peripheral.
Owners, guests and charter clients are increasingly attentive to the footprint of where they travel, especially in sensitive marine environments.
