Studio Underd0g has always been at its best when a watch starts with a wink and ends with proper watchmaking substance.
The new 03SERIES Chan3ad keeps that balance intact, turning the Gulf’s culturally significant kingfish into a compact hand-wound monopusher chronograph made with Ahmed Seddiqi.
It’s colourful without being cartoonish, locally rooted without feeling like a souvenir, and technically more serious than the brand’s early chronograph experiments.

At a glance
- Studio Underd0g and Ahmed Seddiqi have introduced the 03SERIES Chan3ad, a limited-edition monopusher chronograph inspired by the Gulf kingfish.
- The watch uses a two-layer blue-grey and pale pink dial with Eastern Arabic numerals, yellow chronograph accents and a hand-wound Sellita SW510-M movement.
- Production is limited to 100 pieces, priced at AED 9,600 and available exclusively through Ahmed Seddiqi boutiques from September 17, 2026.
A kingfish idea with local flavour
The Chan3ad takes its name from the kingfish, a prized catch across the UAE and wider Gulf region.
Rather than placing a fish on the dial, Studio Underd0g has translated the idea through colour, texture and small cultural details.
The upper dial has a blue-grey dégradé finish that suggests the sheen of scales, while the lower dial shows a pale pink tone that nods to the flesh of the fish.

The yellow tips on the chronograph hands add a sharper accent, chosen as a reference to the lemon traditionally served alongside the dish.
It’s the sort of concept that could easily become heavy-handed, but the execution stays within the playful visual language Studio Underd0g has developed since its first 01SERIES chronographs.
The 03SERIES case keeps things compact
The Chan3ad uses the same basic proportions as the existing 03SERIES, with a 38.5mm stainless steel case and a 44.5mm lug-to-lug measurement.

At 13.6mm thick including the sapphire crystal, it has the presence expected of a chronograph without becoming oversized.
The case is made from 316L stainless steel and uses a three-part construction with a screwed display caseback.
A single rectangular pusher at 2 o’clock controls the chronograph functions, keeping the case profile cleaner than a traditional two-pusher layout.

The dial layout is familiar from the 03SERIES Salm0n, with an oversized 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, running seconds at 9 o’clock and central hands for hours, minutes and chronograph seconds.
For this edition, Eastern Arabic numerals appear on the tachymeter scale and subdials, giving the watch one of its most direct regional cues.
A hand-wound Sellita monopusher inside
Inside is a customised version of the Sellita SW510-M, a manually wound, cam-operated monopusher chronograph movement with roots in the Valjoux 7750 architecture.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 63-hour power reserve, which makes it practical enough to rotate through a weekend without immediately needing attention.
For Studio Underd0g, the movement is finished with a bespoke ruthenium anthracite bridge and Côte de Genève decoration.
The movement choice also marks how far the brand has travelled from its original Seagull-powered 01SERIES chronographs, while still keeping the hand-wound ritual that suits its character.

Strap, bracelet and collector appeal
The fish theme extends to the strap, which is made from black salmon leather sourced from Iceland and fitted with quick-release spring bars.
A Milanese mesh bracelet is also included, giving the watch a more casual, metallic option that should suit the compact case.
Limited to 100 pieces, the Chan3ad is clearly aimed at collectors who enjoy Studio Underd0g’s humour but want something more regionally specific and mechanically substantial.

It also makes sense as an Ahmed Seddiqi collaboration, since the retailer has become an important platform for independent watchmaking in the Middle East.
The result is a small-run chronograph with a very particular sense of place, and that specificity is exactly what makes it more interesting than another colourway.
