Xpeng is taking a sizeable luxury SUV to Paris, and the G9L looks designed to make a statement beyond simple electric range.
Set for its global debut at the Paris Motor Show on Oct. 12, the 5.1-metre SUV combines up to 577 hp with a cabin built around screens, comfort hardware and projection technology.
For a brand pushing further into the premium electric space, the G9L reads as a direct pitch to buyers who want a chauffeured feel without giving up serious performance.

The G9L measures 5,120 mm in length, placing it firmly in the large luxury SUV class rather than the compact premium crossover space.
Its 3,100 mm wheelbase is just as important as the overall length, because that extra stretch should translate into the kind of rear-seat room expected from a flagship-leaning EV.
Xpeng appears to be leaning into that lounge-like role, with four soft-closing doors, heated, ventilated and massaging seats, and a 12.5-litre refrigerator among the comfort features.
A 50W wireless charger adds a useful practical touch, while a 33-speaker audio system pushes the G9L further into luxury-cabin territory.
Projection tech gives the G9L its showpiece feature
The most unusual element is outside the cabin, where Huawei-supplied headlights can project images onto the road.
An external projection system is also claimed to display movies on a screen measuring up to 98 inches, giving the SUV a feature set that feels closer to a rolling entertainment suite than a conventional family EV.
Inside, the screen count is equally ambitious.
The dashboard includes a large central touchscreen and a slim digital instrument cluster, while an augmented-reality display adds another layer to the driver interface.
Rear passengers get a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted screen, and a 9-inch streaming rear-view mirror is also part of the package.
Powertrain and range positioning
The G9L will be offered with either a 270 kW rear motor or a 430 kW dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.
That translates to 362 hp for the rear-drive model and 577 hp for the dual-motor version, giving the larger SUV the kind of output expected in the upper end of the electric luxury segment.
Range is rated at up to 702 km for the rear-drive variant and 660 km for the dual-motor AWD model.
Those figures suggest Xpeng is trying to balance performance and long-distance usability rather than turning the G9L into a pure numbers exercise.
