Tissot has resized one of its most broadly wearable everyday watches, introducing the Gentleman in a 38mm steel case with the same quietly polished character that has made the collection a mainstay.
The move trims 2mm from the case diameter, giving the Gentleman a more balanced footprint for smaller wrists and for anyone who prefers a dress-sport watch with less visual weight.
A 38mm Steel Case With Everyday Intent
The new Gentleman 38mm uses a 316L stainless steel case and retains 100 meters of water resistance, which keeps it firmly in daily-wear territory rather than limiting it to office duty.
That size shift is the key update here: 38mm is compact enough to feel refined, but still large enough to support the watch’s clean, legible dial layout.
Sunburst Dials and a Useful Date Window
Tissot is launching the smaller Gentleman in four sunburst dial options: blue, green, black and silver.
The layout stays restrained, with applied hour markers, hour and minute hands treated with Super-LumiNova, and a date aperture positioned at 3 o’clock.
Powermatic 80 With Nivachron Inside
Inside is Tissot’s Powermatic 80 automatic movement, a caliber known for its more-than-three-day power reserve.
The movement also uses a Nivachron balance spring, improving resistance to magnetic fields while helping with stability against shocks and temperature variation.
A Bracelet Built for Versatility
The watch is fitted to a three-row steel bracelet with a mix of satin-brushed and polished surfaces, matching the Gentleman’s position between casual sport watch and understated dress watch.
A quick-change system adds welcome flexibility, allowing the owner to swap straps more easily and push the watch toward a more formal or relaxed look.
With the new 38mm Gentleman, Tissot has not reinvented the collection so much as sharpened its proportions, making an already sensible automatic watch more approachable for a wider range of wrists.
