The Carrera has always been at its best when it feels purposeful rather than decorative.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa leans into that character with a vivid red-and-white treatment, a compact 39 mm Glassbox case and just enough motorsport detail to feel personal without overwhelming the design.
Limited to 150 pieces, it also continues TAG Heuer’s recent run of collaborations that treat the Carrera as a serious design platform rather than a nostalgia exercise.

A Carrera shaped by Japanese racing colour
Team Ikuzawa gives this Carrera its visual identity, with red and white used as more than simple accent colours.
The pairing nods to Japan while also connecting the watch to the graphic clarity of vintage timing instruments, particularly the Heuer Roadmaster stopwatch.
The dial is built around a subtle Clous de Paris texture, which adds surface interest without making the display feel busy.
That matters on a Carrera, because legibility has been central to the model since Jack Heuer introduced the original chronograph in 1963.
The rhodium-plated hour and minute hands are finished with red lacquer and white Super-LumiNova, while the central chronograph seconds hand is also picked out in red.
Instead of applied baton markers, the design uses a raised outer track with two-digit Arabic numerals and black minute strokes, giving the watch a crisp instrument-like edge.
The Glassbox dial gets a sharper rhythm
The watch uses a two-register layout, with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock.
The 30-minute register is the most assertive element on the dial, finished in signal red with the 10, 20 and 30 markings placed inside white circles.
Opposite it, the 12-hour counter is white with black strokes and a red lacquered hand, balancing the dial without mirroring it too neatly.
TAG Heuer has left out the running seconds subdial found on the regular Carrera Glassbox chronograph, which gives the lower half of the dial more room.
The date remains at 6 o’clock, using a white disc with red numerals to keep the detail aligned with the Team Ikuzawa colour scheme.
A black flange carries the white minute scale around the perimeter, recalling the clever use of tension-ring tracks on early Carrera watches while preserving space on the dial itself.
The red Carrera, Team Ikuzawa and TAG Heuer text adds another layer of colour, while the raised shield brings a small but welcome sense of depth.
Case, bracelet and strap options
The 39 mm steel case will be familiar to anyone who has followed the modern Carrera Glassbox line.
It carries the same broad design language, including the domed sapphire crystal, polished and brushed steel surfaces, angular lugs and classic chronograph pushers.
For this edition, TAG Heuer fits its modern seven-row beads-of-rice-style steel bracelet, which suits the compact case and gives the watch a more period-aware stance.
The package also includes two additional straps, one in perforated white leather and another in white textile with red-and-white striping.
The crown has been changed from the regular Carrera item, using a fluted form with a red lacquer ring through the middle.
At the back, the exhibition sapphire crystal carries Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Dept. branding.
The TH20-10 movement inside
Inside is TAG Heuer’s Calibre TH20-10, an automatic integrated chronograph movement used across other modern TAG Heuer models.
The movement combines a column wheel with vertical coupling, a pairing valued for clean chronograph engagement and a smooth pusher feel.
It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers an 80-hour power reserve, which makes the watch practical enough to leave aside for a weekend and return to without immediately resetting it.
The movement is visible through the caseback and finished with Côtes de Genève on the bridges.

The Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa works because it doesn’t try to reinvent the Carrera so much as sharpen its racing vocabulary.
