Roger Dubuis has long used the Excalibur line as a stage for Arthurian legend, often with dramatic cases and intricate métiers d’art work.
The Excalibur Lady of the Lake Hawthorn Edition takes that mythology in a more delicate direction, building a floral, gem-set scene around Viviane, the water fairy associated with King Arthur’s sword.
It’s still unmistakably Roger Dubuis, but the emphasis here is less on theatre by scale and more on detail, texture and storytelling within a 36mm rose gold case.

At a glance
- Roger Dubuis has introduced the Excalibur Lady of the Lake Hawthorn Edition, a feminine Arthurian-inspired watch within the Excalibur family.
- The dial combines sculpted mother-of-pearl hawthorn flowers, diamond-set centres, red sapphires and a central field of 147 diamonds.
- The 36mm rose gold watch is powered by the automatic RD830 movement and is priced upon request.
A gentler Excalibur built around Viviane
The Lady of the Lake sub-collection draws on Viviane, the magical figure who presents King Arthur with Excalibur and appears in the broader legend as a guiding, mysterious presence.
Roger Dubuis had already extended the Excalibur universe beyond its Knights of the Round Table watches, adapting the collection’s language for smaller and more feminine mechanical pieces.
This Hawthorn Edition follows that direction with a 36mm rose gold case measuring 9.85mm thick.

It retains Excalibur signatures such as the fluted bezel, but the architecture is softened by diamond-set bezel segments and two central bar-shaped lugs also set with diamonds.
The case combines polished and satin-brushed surfaces, an overhanging bezel and diamond-set flanks that curve around the crown.
In profile, the crown has a ring-like form, a detail Roger Dubuis connects to the magic ring Viviane gives Lancelot.

Mother-of-pearl hawthorn across a layered dial
The dial is arranged across three levels, giving the watch much of its depth without relying on an oversized case.
At the outer edge, a raised snailed flange carries applied galvanised rose gold indices filled with luminescent material.
Below it sits a smooth white mother-of-pearl track, where three-dimensional white hawthorn flowers are sculpted from mother-of-pearl and set with diamond centres.

Red sapphires appear around the flowers as hawthorn berries, bringing a vivid seasonal accent to the otherwise pale, luminous composition.
The small seconds at 6 o’clock is also indicated by a white mother-of-pearl hawthorn flower, keeping the display aligned with the watch’s botanical theme.
At the centre, Roger Dubuis sets the dial with 147 diamonds, above which faceted rose gold hour and minute hands pass over the scene.

The RD830 movement beneath the storytelling
The watch is powered by the RD830 automatic movement, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
The calibre runs at 4Hz and offers a 48-hour power reserve.
Finishing includes Côtes de Genève and snailing, while the movement is fitted with an openworked 22k rose gold rotor.

The watch is paired with a red pearlescent alligator strap and a rose gold pin buckle, a combination that echoes the red sapphire hawthorn berries on the dial.

The Excalibur Lady of the Lake Hawthorn Edition is aimed at a collector who wants Roger Dubuis’ myth-making and mechanical credibility in a more wearable, decorative form.
Its appeal lies in the tension between a recognisable Excalibur case and a dial that trades aggression for craft, colour and a distinctly Arthurian sense of romance.
