A Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Black Bess has surfaced for sale at Amian Cars in Germany, and even by Veyron standards, this is a deeply uncommon machine.
Created as part of Bugatti’s Les Légendes collection, the Black Bess is one of only three examples produced and this car is understood to be the only US-spec example.
Its appeal sits in that narrow space where Bugatti history, extreme engineering and collector-grade scarcity meet.

A Les Légendes Veyron with pre-war Bugatti character
The Black Bess edition was created as an homage to the Bugatti Type 18 Black Bess from 1912, one of the marque’s important early performance cars.
Bugatti carried that historical reference into the Veyron with an all-black exterior, black wheels and a set of precious-metal details that separate it from the standard Grand Sport Vitesse.
The most striking element is the gold-plated horseshoe grille, supported by 24-carat gold exterior highlights and Black Bess engravings.

It’s a restrained visual recipe at first glance, but the details are deliberately theatrical once you get closer.
Gold detailing and a cabin with illustrated history
The interior moves away from the monochrome exterior with two-tone leather upholstery in brown and beige.
A red leather-wrapped steering wheel adds an unexpected color break, giving the cabin a more expressive feel than many dark-specification Veyrons.

The door pads are among the car’s defining features, with scenes depicting the historic Type 18 Black Bess and Roland Garros’ Morane Saulnier Type H airplane.
That link to aviation and early motorsport gives the edition a more narrative quality than a conventional paint-and-trim special.
Open-top Veyron performance at full force
Beneath the commemorative detailing, the Black Bess remains a Grand Sport Vitesse, which means it carries Bugatti’s 8.0-liter W16 engine.

The quad-turbocharged unit produces 1,184 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque.
With a top speed of more than 253 mph, the Grand Sport Vitesse was the fastest open-top roadster of its time.
That performance still anchors the car’s collector status, because the Veyron was never just a design object or a limited-edition trophy.

Collector context for a one-of-three Bugatti
The dealership hasn’t listed an asking price, which is common for cars of this caliber and rarity.
As a useful market marker, a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse recently achieved $5.44 million at auction.
The Black Bess adds another layer through its Les Légendes status, its three-car production run and the fact that this example is the only US-spec car.
For the right collector, the appeal won’t simply be owning an open-top Veyron, but securing one of the most distinctive storytelling pieces from Bugatti’s modern era.
