Panerai has introduced the Submersible GMT PAM01495, a large-format 47mm dive watch that combines a skeletonised display, a flyer-style GMT function and a 500-metre depth rating in a titanium DMLS case.
It is a very modern expression of Panerai’s tool-watch identity, with the familiar cushion case and locking crown guard pushed into more technical territory through advanced case manufacturing and a highly visible openworked layout.
A 47mm titanium DMLS case built for depth
The PAM01495 uses Grade 5 titanium made with Panerai’s Direct Metal Laser Sintering process, a laser-fused additive manufacturing method that allows the brand to create a strong yet notably light structure.

Panerai says the construction makes the case 25 percent lighter than a conventional titanium equivalent, an important detail on a watch with a 47mm diameter and professional-grade 500-metre water resistance.
A unidirectional blue ceramic bezel reinforces the Submersible brief, while the watch is delivered with both a blue rubber strap and a blue textile strap, each fitted with a titanium pin buckle.
An openworked dial with a cleaner date solution
The dial is built around a grid-like skeletonised architecture, with floating Super-LumiNova hour markers and luminous hands sitting above the visible movement beneath.

Panerai uses two lume tones here, with the minute hand and bezel pip glowing blue, while the remaining markers and hands emit green light for strong low-light legibility.
The most interesting display detail is the patented polarised date at 3 o’clock, which uses a transparent date disc and a polarised window so the current date appears only inside the aperture.
That allows the watch to keep the practicality of a date display without covering a large portion of the skeletonised dial.

The P.4001/S movement adds travel-watch utility
Inside the PAM01495 is the automatic Calibre P.4001/S, a micro-rotor movement running at 4Hz with a 72-hour power reserve.
The GMT function is arranged as a flyer-style system, meaning the local hour hand can be adjusted independently when travelling without disturbing the second time zone indication.
An orange central pointer tracks the second time zone on a 12-hour scale, supported by an AM/PM indicator integrated into the small seconds display at 9 o’clock.

The movement also includes a zero-reset hacking seconds mechanism, which snaps the small seconds hand back to zero when the crown is pulled for more precise time-setting.
Panerai has placed the power reserve indicator on the rear of the movement, visible through the sapphire caseback, keeping the dial cleaner despite the complication set.
Price and boutique availability
The Panerai Submersible GMT PAM01495 is priced at AU$78,700 and is available by inquiry through Panerai boutiques.
This is not a discreet watch, nor is it trying to be one, but it should appeal to collectors who want Panerai’s naval design language in its most technical contemporary form.
Between the DMLS titanium construction, 500-metre rating, skeletonised display and travel-ready movement, the PAM01495 makes a strong case for the Submersible as the brand’s platform for serious modern engineering.
