Oris has used its annual Hölstein Edition to look inward this year, and the result is one of the quieter, more thoughtful watches in the series.
The Oris Hölstein Edition 2026 marks the brand’s 1 June founding date with a limited Artelier model that leans into the idea of reflection, both visually and historically.
It also gives the recently revived Artelier collection a new shape of purpose, stripping the watch back to hours, minutes and small seconds while bringing Oris’s Calibre 401 into the line.

At a glance
- Oris has introduced the Hölstein Edition 2026 as a 250-piece limited edition celebrating its 122-year history.
- The watch is a time-only Artelier model with a light grey dial, mirrored small seconds counter and iridescent engraved caseback.
- It uses the automatic Oris Calibre 401 with a 120-hour power reserve and is priced at £3,550.
A slimmer Artelier with a more focused layout
The Hölstein Edition 2026 is built on the Artelier collection that returned at Watches and Wonders 2026, but this version takes a more restrained route than the moonphase model.
Its stainless steel case measures 39.5mm across and 11.1mm thick, making it slightly slimmer than the standard Artelier’s 11.8mm profile.
That reduction comes from the simpler time-only architecture, with Oris removing the moonphase display and allowing the small seconds to become the dial’s main point of detail.

The proportions are sensible rather than showy, which suits the Artelier’s dress-leaning character without pushing it into overly formal territory.
Grey, mirror polish and a flash of red
The dial is finished in light grey, a choice that softens the watch and makes the mirrored small seconds counter less immediately obvious at first glance.
That detail matters because reflection is the central visual idea here, handled with more subtlety than a fully polished dial would allow.

A red small seconds hand gives the composition a controlled point of contrast, while the applied hour markers take their cue from an Oris archive style from the 1960s.
The straight-sided hour and minute hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, adding useful legibility to an otherwise pared-back design.
The grey suede leather strap keeps the tone consistent and gives the watch a softer texture against the polished and reflective details.
The caseback carries the anniversary theme
Turn the watch over and the reflection concept becomes more literal.
Oris worked with its innovation partner Inspire on a laser treatment for the caseback, engraving the Oris Bear, the words “Hölstein Edition 2026” and two concentric framing rings.
The treated surface produces an iridescent rainbow effect as it catches the light, giving the closed back a more animated presence than a conventional commemorative engraving.
It’s a fitting choice for a watch marking 122 years since Oris was founded in Hölstein, where the brand remains closely tied to its identity.
Calibre 401 gives the Artelier a modern engine
Inside is Oris Calibre 401, an automatic movement from the brand’s 400 Series.
This is the first new-generation Artelier to use one of Oris’s 400 Series calibres, which makes the limited edition more than a cosmetic variation.
The movement is highly anti-magnetic and offers a 120-hour power reserve, giving the watch five days of running time when fully wound.
Its stated accuracy is -3/+5 seconds per day, a range that sits within COSC chronometer tolerances.
For collectors who prefer the Artelier in a cleaner configuration, the combination of small seconds and a long-power-reserve automatic movement gives this edition a strong practical argument.

The Oris Hölstein Edition 2026 is likely to appeal to collectors who enjoy the brand’s annual limited editions but want something quieter than a novelty-led anniversary piece.
Its appeal is in the balance of archive cues, modern movement technology and a reflective theme that feels considered rather than decorative.
