Golf courses have become increasingly natural territory for Omega, and Archerfield, just outside Edinburgh, offered a neat reminder of why.
Between the brand’s links with players such as Rory McIlroy and its role as title sponsor of the European Masters, Omega’s presence in the game now feels well established.
The real pleasure, though, was seeing how varied that presence looks on the wrist, from Olympic Seamasters worn by members of the British curling team to Speedmasters that felt entirely at home away from the clubhouse.

At a glance
- Archerfield offered a strong cross-section of Omega watches in a sporting setting, from Seamasters to Speedmasters.
- Notable pieces included Olympic-edition models, a Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite and several Planet Ocean references.
- The line-up underlined Omega’s close ties with golf, elite sport and practical modern watchmaking.
Omega’s golf presence at Archerfield
Omega’s relationship with golf isn’t limited to a logo on a leaderboard.
The brand has built a visible position in the sport through player partnerships and tournament sponsorship, and that visibility translates neatly to the kind of watches people actually wear around a course.
At Archerfield, the selection leaned heavily into robust sports watches rather than fragile dress pieces.

That made sense, as a golf course is a surprisingly good test of what a modern luxury watch can be asked to do, with movement, weather, glare and the occasional less-than-perfect swing all part of the day.
Olympic Seamasters among the curlers
The British Olympic curling team brought a fitting Olympic angle to the day, with several Omega sports ambassador pieces appearing on wrists around the course.
The Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Beijing 2022 stood out for its white dial, blue markers and red accents at 15, 30, 45 and 60 on the minute track, worn here on a blue and white NATO-style strap.

The Seamaster Diver 300m Beijing 2022 gave the Olympic theme a more overtly aquatic shape.
Its blue ceramic wave dial, relief metal bezel and Olympic ring-coloured hour-marker accents separate it from the standard Diver 300m while keeping the familiar silhouette intact.
Another Winter Games piece, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Pyeongchang 2018, brought a bolder personality.

At 43.5mm by 16.09mm, with 600 metres of water resistance, a blue dial and vivid red accents, it sits firmly in the tool-watch camp.
Speedmasters and deep divers on the fairway
The Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite was one of the more technical pieces in the mix.
Released in January 2025, it was the first Speedmaster Moonphase to show the moon phase as seen from both the northern and southern hemispheres, marked by N and S within the display.

The black version deepens the effect with a black PVD-coated meteorite dial, giving the watch a darker, more atmospheric character than the typical lunar complication.
The Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon brought a very different lunar texture.
Introduced in October 2025, the 44.25mm grey ceramic chronograph uses the calibre 3869 and carries a moon-surface dial treatment with an openworked section below the chronograph registers toward 8 o’clock.

For purists, the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional remained the cleanest expression of the family.
Its black-and-white chronograph layout is all about fast legibility, with running seconds, a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour counter and central chronograph seconds.
The Seamaster side was just as varied, with everything from the blue Seamaster 300 to heavy-duty Planet Ocean models making an appearance.

The reintroduced Seamaster 300 from 2021 channels the original 1957 Seamaster 300, here in a 40mm blue configuration with beige-toned lume and the calibre 8912 with a 60-hour power reserve.
At the other end of the scale, the Planet Ocean 6,000m Ultra Deep 75th Anniversary brought serious depth credentials and a dial textured to depict an oceanographic map of Challenger Deep, where the Ultra Deep prototype was tested in 2019.
The discontinued Planet Ocean 600m Chronograph also made a strong case for Omega’s larger sports watches.

Its 45.5mm case, black and orange colourway and calibre 9900 with 60 hours of power reserve gave it real presence, even among other assertive references.
The newer fourth-generation Planet Ocean 600m showed how Omega has refined the line.
With a facetted case, no crown-like helium escape valve at 10 o’clock, 600 metres of water resistance and a more wearable 42mm by 13.79mm profile, the matte black dial and blue bezel version felt especially suited to active wear.

Not every watch on show was a high-end mechanical heavyweight.
The Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch Mission to the Moon made its own practical point, with lightweight bioceramic construction and quartz reliability making it an easygoing choice for a day outside.

Seen together, the watches made a convincing case for Omega’s sporting breadth.

Archerfield wasn’t a showroom, and that was the point, as these were watches being worn in the kind of active, social setting where their size, legibility and character actually matter.
