AV86 gives the dress watch a Riviera mood
The AV86 1954 Amalfi Mechanical is the smallest and most overtly vintage-leaning watch here, and its 36mm case size is a large part of the appeal.
It’s built in gold-plated stainless steel with a domed sapphire crystal, an off-white sandblasted dial, Arabic numerals and a small seconds display at six o’clock.
The hand-wound Seagull ST17 movement keeps the watch firmly in traditional dress-watch territory, with a stated 39-hour power reserve.
At £339, it’s aimed at buyers who want the feel of a mid-century holiday watch without having to treat it like a fragile vintage purchase.
Jack Mason and Mudita take different routes to everyday polish
The Jack Mason Canton Day-Date is the most elaborately detailed of the group, pairing a milled guilloché dial with a curved day aperture across the top and a date window at six.
Its 41mm case is rated to 150m, which gives the watch more practical reach than its dress-adjacent dial might suggest.
The Sellita SW240-1 automatic runs at 28,800vph and carries a 38-hour power reserve, while the Lone Star emblem and gold PVD rotor nod to the brand’s Dallas identity.
It’s offered in Slate, Lagoon and Chocolate, priced at $1,849, or about £1,380.
Mudita’s Radiant moves in the opposite direction, stripping the dial back to legibility and removing logos entirely.
The watch uses a Sellita SW 200 Elaboré automatic with a quoted accuracy range of ±7 to 20 seconds per day and a 41-hour power reserve.
Its brushed 316L stainless steel case was developed with Chrono AG in Solothurn, and the model is offered in 32mm, 37mm and 40mm sizes.
With six nature-toned dial options, Super-LumiNova BGW9, vegan quick-release straps and 100m water resistance, the Radiant is the quietest watch in the selection but also one of the most considered.
Vario and Maystone bring the stronger silhouettes
The Vario VERSA Reversible Single Time White Tuxedo is built around a simple but effective idea, giving the wearer two dial faces in one 41.5mm tonneau-shaped case.
Its mirrored-stripe dial treatment plays into the tuxedo theme, while a flat sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating keeps the presentation sharp.
Inside is a Miyota 6T28 automatic, visible through a display caseback with a custom rotor, running at 28,800vph with a 40-hour power reserve.
It’s rated to 50m and comes on a vegetable-tanned Italian leather strap with a deployant clasp.
At $498, or roughly £375, it’s also listed as a limited run, which adds some urgency for collectors who like unusual case architecture.
Maystone’s Skybreaker Chronograph takes the sportiest position in the lineup.
Named with birds of prey in mind, it uses a VK63 meca-quartz chronograph movement inside a 40mm case measuring 48mm lug-to-lug and 11.5mm thick.
The integrated-bracelet styling and 100m water resistance give it everyday utility, while the launch colourways are named Peregrine Falcon, Blue Eagle and Steppe Eagle.
At £299, it’s the most affordable watch here and only the second collection from Maystone.
