Denza is preparing to put the Z9S on sale in China, and the numbers are hard to ignore.
The large electric GT is scheduled for a September 23 market launch, with pre-sales already open across three variants. Its headline claim is range, with the longest-distance version rated at up to 1,100 km on the CLTC cycle.
At a glance
- Denza will launch the Z9S in China on September 23, with pre-sales already underway.
- The flagship triple-motor version produces 890 kW, or 1,194 hp, and is said to reach 62 mph in 2.68 seconds.
- All three variants use a 102.326 kWh battery, with claimed CLTC ranges from 780 km to 1,100 km.
A big-range electric GT with serious performance
The Z9S sits in a part of the EV market where luxury, range and acceleration are increasingly expected to coexist.

All three versions are fitted with the same 102.326 kWh battery pack, though their claimed CLTC ranges differ significantly.
The entry figure is 780 km, or 484 miles, while the middle version is rated at 920 km, or 571 miles.
The top range figure is 1,100 km, or 683 miles, which would place the Z9S among the longest-range production EVs by official claimed testing figures.

As ever with CLTC ratings, real-world distance will depend heavily on speed, temperature, terrain and driving style, but the figure gives Denza a striking headline as it prepares the car for the Chinese market.
Two powertrain layouts and a 1,194 hp flagship
Denza will offer the Z9S with two powertrain configurations.
The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version produces 370 kW, equivalent to 496 hp, which is already substantial for a road-focused electric model.

The flagship version moves to a triple-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 890 kW, or 1,194 hp.
That model is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.68 seconds, putting it in territory usually associated with low-slung performance EVs rather than large electric tourers.
The scale of the car matters here, too.

At more than five metres long, the Z9S isn’t being pitched as a compact performance machine, but as a spacious, high-output EV with the technology and stance to compete in China’s fast-moving premium segment.
Chassis and driver-assistance hardware
The Z9S also brings a set of features that point beyond straight-line speed.
LiDAR-based driver assistance is part of the package, reflecting how important advanced sensing hardware has become in the Chinese premium EV market.

An active electric rear spoiler is also listed, along with rear-wheel steering, a useful addition on a car of this size.
The specification also includes a magnetic passenger-side panel, one of the more unusual details attached to the model ahead of launch.
Together, these features suggest Denza is aiming for a car that feels technologically complete rather than simply powerful.
