Denza is preparing to make its Z9 GT EV a little easier to justify without dulling the part that matters most to performance buyers.
A new Z9 GT e3 variant is due to be announced on Sept. 9, bringing the same 1,140 hp tri-motor setup found higher in the range at a lower expected price.
The idea is straightforward and rather appealing: keep the flagship electric hardware, remove some expensive comfort and chassis equipment, and let the headline numbers do the talking.

At a glance
- Denza is preparing a lower-priced Z9 GT e3 variant expected to be priced from about 329,800 to 339,800 yuan.
- The model keeps the 850 kW tri-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain with 1,140 hp and 1,210 Nm of torque.
- Cost savings are expected to come from equipment changes, including conventional ventilated cast-iron brakes instead of carbon-ceramic hardware.
Same tri-motor force, lower entry point
The most important detail is that Denza isn’t detuning the Z9 GT for this more affordable e3 variant.
The car is expected to use the same 850 kW electric powertrain already seen in the line-up, with one 230 kW motor at the front axle and two 310 kW permanent-magnet motors at the rear.
That gives the Z9 GT e3 all-wheel drive, 1,140 hp and 1,210 Nm of torque, figures that put it deep into high-performance EV territory.

For buyers interested in the Z9 GT as a fast electric grand tourer rather than a rolling catalogue of luxury equipment, that’s the key point.
Where Denza is cutting cost
The expected price reduction appears to come from hardware and comfort features rather than the drivetrain.
The new variant is expected to swap the e3 Performance model’s carbon-ceramic brakes for ventilated cast-iron discs.

Inside, equipment such as dual active-compressor refrigerators and motorised rear seats with pneumatic massage are also likely to be removed.
Those are meaningful changes for buyers who want the fullest luxury specification, but they won’t matter as much to drivers focused on acceleration and drivetrain performance.
Positioning below the e3 Performance
The new Z9 GT e3 is expected to cost around 329,800 to 339,800 yuan, which is approximately $49,100 to $50,600.

That would place it below the 369,800-yuan e3 Performance, which is approximately $55,100.
The difference is not enormous in absolute terms, but it gives Denza a sharper entry point for customers who want the full-power tri-motor version without paying for the richer comfort package.
It also makes the Z9 GT’s performance-per-yuan argument stronger in a Chinese EV market where power, technology and price are being recalibrated at remarkable speed.

By preserving the 1,140 hp powertrain and trimming equipment around it, Denza is giving the Z9 GT e3 a clearer identity as the value-driven performance pick in the range.
It won’t be the most indulgent version, but it may well be the one that makes the strongest case to drivers who care more about the motors than the massage seats.
