BMW Australia is marking the Nürburgring’s 100th anniversary with a very small allocation of special M cars.
Just 16 examples are set for local showrooms, divided across four models and two colours.
For Australian buyers, the appeal is simple: this is a narrow, numbered-in-spirit moment for BMW M, tied to one of motorsport’s most recognisable circuits.

At a glance
- BMW Australia will offer 16 Nürburgring 100th anniversary M cars across four models.
- The local allocation covers the M2 xDrive, M3 Competition xDrive sedan, M4 Competition xDrive coupe and M5 sedan.
- Prices start at AUD 155,800 before on-road costs, with the M5 sedan limited to two Australian examples.
A four-model allocation for Australia
The broader global Nürburgring anniversary line-up includes six models, but Australia will receive four from the M range.
The local list starts with the M2 xDrive 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition, followed by the M3 Competition xDrive sedan, M4 Competition xDrive coupe and M5 sedan.
BMW Australia has assigned six examples to the M2 xDrive, making it the largest share of the 16-car allocation.
The M3 Competition xDrive sedan and M4 Competition xDrive coupe will be limited to four units each.
The M5 sedan sits at the top of the local rarity ladder, with just two examples earmarked for Australia.
Two colours tied to the release
BMW will split the Australian allocation evenly between two paint finishes.
Eight cars will be finished in BMW Individual Nürburgring Green, while the remaining eight will be painted in Black Sapphire metallic.
That colour split gives the programme a clean structure, though BMW hasn’t detailed how each finish will be distributed across the four models.

Positioned for committed M buyers
With 16 cars across an entire national market, this is not a broad-run special edition exercise.
It’s aimed squarely at buyers who already understand the weight of the Nürburgring name in BMW M culture and want a car connected to that history.
The mix of compact, sedan, coupe and performance sedan body styles also gives the allocation a useful spread, even if the numbers leave very little room to move.
For Australian collectors and M loyalists, the decision will likely come down to model preference first and colour second, because the supply side of the equation is already fixed.
