Carlos Alcaraz is taking his appetite for performance beyond the tennis court with a fully customised Sunreef ULTIMA 88.
The Spanish player, already a multiple Grand Slam champion at 23, has commissioned the yacht as a private escape from the intensity of the ATP calendar.
For Sunreef Yachts, the project places one of sport’s most recognisable young names inside a community built around bespoke multihulls, advanced leisure layouts and owner-driven design.

At a glance
- Carlos Alcaraz has commissioned a fully customised Sunreef ULTIMA 88.
- The yacht combines multihull stability with sport-yacht pace and a 26-knot top speed.
- Its layout is being tailored around private relaxation, water sports and entertaining at sea.
A tennis champion turns to Sunreef
Alcaraz’s move into yachting feels less like a celebrity endorsement and more like a considered fit.
The ULTIMA 88 is designed for owners who want speed and space without giving up the comfort and stability that define a modern multihull.
Alcaraz described Sunreef as “true trendsetters” and said he felt he shared the brand’s dynamic spirit.

Francis Lapp, founder and president of Sunreef Yachts, framed the commission as part of the shipyard’s wider circle of ambitious owners whose careers and personal drive mirror the brand’s approach to innovation.
The ULTIMA 88 is built around open-air living
The most compelling part of the yacht is its emphasis on contact with the water.
At the stern, Sunreef’s Ocean Lounge brings together a large garage, a hydraulic platform and unfolding side terraces to create a wide, low-slung leisure area for swimming, diving and jet skiing.
It’s the kind of feature that turns the back of the yacht into an active waterfront rather than a formal deck.
The main deck is being configured around light, space and privacy, with a forward-facing owner’s suite running across the full beam.
That suite will include panoramic views and a private bathtub, giving Alcaraz a quieter counterpoint to the yacht’s more athletic personality.
Four guest cabins are planned for family and friends, each described as spacious and light-filled with luxurious finishes.
Above, the flybridge leans fully into the Mediterranean idea of a day at sea, with lounge areas, a jacuzzi, al fresco dining and oversized sunpads.
A bespoke retreat with a performance edge
The ULTIMA 88 sits in an interesting space within luxury yachting because it isn’t simply about size.
Its appeal comes from the combination of a high-performance hull, a multihull platform and an owner-led approach to layout and finish.
For an athlete whose career is built on explosive movement and precision, the yacht’s mix of speed, balance and relaxation makes the commission feel especially personal.
Rather than a floating showpiece, Alcaraz’s yacht is shaping up as a working retreat for recovery, sport and private time away from the tour.
