Beauregard’s second Ulysse watch moves deeper into the territory between independent watchmaking and high jewellery.
Created with Vianney Halter and presented for Geneva Watch Days 2026, the Ulysse Saint-Petersbourg turns a mechanical wristwatch into something closer to a miniature stained-glass object, with a dial inspired by Imperial Russian ornament and Fabergé-era colour.
At a glance
- Beauregard and Vianney Halter have introduced the Ulysse Saint-Petersbourg as a 10-piece limited edition.
- The watch features an 18K pink gold lacework dial set with 85 hand-carved coloured gemstones over mother-of-pearl.
- It is priced at CHF 148,000 excluding taxes and is fitted with a self-winding movement using Halter’s mysterious winding system.
A jewelled dial with Imperial Russian overtones
Alexandre Beauregard’s watchmaking has always carried the eye of a jeweller, and this Saint-Petersbourg edition makes that identity impossible to miss.

The dial is built around a fine 18K pink gold lattice that holds 85 coloured gemstones in a floral composition.
The setting includes rock crystal, amethyst, Fanta opal, fire opal, topaz, yellow opal and peridot, each hand-carved and assembled in Beauregard’s Montréal workshop.
A mother-of-pearl disc sits beneath the transparent stones, giving the dial a shifting quality as light passes through the gemwork.

The effect is deliberately theatrical, but not random.
Its visual language points to Saint Petersburg’s decorative history, particularly the opulence associated with Fabergé, while the marine and organic character of the wider Ulysse collection remains present in the flowing arrangement.
Vianney Halter’s mechanical contribution
The dial’s architecture required an unconventional time display, because the hands don’t simply sit at the centre in the usual manner.

Halter developed a mechanism that drives the hours and minutes from two discs with internal peripheral gearing, allowing the hands to work with the watch’s jewelled construction rather than interrupt it.
The movement uses the UhrTeil AG SA-30 architecture associated with Andreas Strehler’s movement-making company, then receives further development with Vianney Halter for this project.
Visible through the sapphire caseback, the calibre includes Halter’s mysterious automatic winding system, where a transparent sapphire disc connects the central rotor section to a heavier mass at the periphery.

The large balance runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and the movement offers a 56-hour power reserve.
The rotor is engraved with the names of Alexandre Beauregard and Vianney Halter, along with the Latin maxim “Vulnerant omnes, ultima necat”, meaning they all wound, the last one kills.
Pink gold, short lugs and a deliberately uncommon presence
The 41mm case is made in 18K pink gold with brushed and polished surfaces, a domed sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back.

At 9.35mm thick and 45.5mm lug to lug, the watch has more restraint on paper than its dial might suggest.
The crown is set with a peridot, tying the case detail back into the colour story of the dial.
Water resistance is rated to 30 metres, which is entirely in keeping with a high-jewellery independent watch made for visual and mechanical appreciation rather than rough daily use.

It comes on a chestnut alligator strap without stitching, secured by an 18K pink gold pin buckle.

The Ulysse Saint-Petersbourg won’t be a watch for everyone, and that is precisely its point.
It is a compact stage for gemstone carving, independent mechanics and personal collaboration, made for the collector who wants a watch that resists easy classification.
