Ariel is changing how American enthusiasts buy its wonderfully single-minded machines.
The British manufacturer has appointed Forman Motorworks of Scottsdale, Arizona, as its exclusive distributor in the United States, giving buyers direct access to UK-built models rather than cars produced under the previous licensed US production programme.
For a brand built around lightweight engineering and a very direct relationship between driver and machine, that shift matters.

At a glance
- Ariel Motor Company has appointed Forman Motorworks as its exclusive US distributor.
- The US lineup will include the Atom 4, Atom 4R, Atom 4RR and the off-road-oriented Nomad 2.
- First demonstrator cars are expected in early 2027, with initial US customer deliveries planned for summer 2027.
UK-built Ariels replace the previous US production setup
The key change is simple but significant.
American customers will now be able to order factory-built Ariel models from the UK through Forman Motorworks, replacing the earlier licensed US production arrangement.
Forman Motorworks will also coordinate parts, servicing and maintenance through selected support locations across the country.

That structure gives Ariel a more direct route into the US market while keeping the latest cars tied more closely to the company’s UK manufacturing base.
The US lineup includes three Atom variants
The Atom remains the centre of Ariel’s identity, and the US range will include three versions of the open, minimalist sports car.
The Atom 4 will be joined by the more powerful Atom 4R, which is rated at 400 bhp.
Above it sits the Atom 4RR, a more track-focused model fitted with a bespoke, hand-built 525 bhp engine.
Ariel has long appealed to drivers who want immediacy rather than insulation, and this lineup keeps that character at the front of the offer.
Nomad 2 adds a dirt-ready alternative
The Nomad 2 brings a different side of the Ariel idea to American buyers.
It’s described as an off-road-oriented machine designed to handle paved roads, gravel tracks and desert trails, a useful combination given the breadth of driving terrain in the United States.
Its inclusion gives the new distribution programme more range than a purely track-and-road sports car offering.
