New independent watch brands rarely get a second chance to make a first impression, which makes the Voxel Meridion VX01-E an unusually clear statement of intent.
Rather than leading with heritage language or vintage cues, Voxel has built its debut around an angular case and a display that physically changes character twice a day.
The result is a watch that feels deliberately contemporary, both in its industrial design and in the way it treats time indication as something kinetic.

At a glance
- Voxel’s debut Meridion VX01-E introduces a self-developed module that alternates between 12-hour and 24-hour indications.
- The watch uses a multi-layer decagonal case in 904L stainless steel and grade 5 titanium with a luminous jumping display disc.
- The 300-piece limited edition is priced from EUR 2,500 before taxes, with pre-orders beginning October 1, 2026.
A young marque with a sharply defined idea
Voxel was founded by French creative director and entrepreneur Thibaut Luc and Swiss technical director Bruno Herbet, bringing together design-led thinking and movement development expertise.
Luc’s background spans technology, entrepreneurship, art, architecture and design, while Herbet is a microtechnology engineer from the Vallée de Joux with more than 15 years in movement development, prototyping and industrialisation.
That split personality is easy to read in the Meridion VX01-E.

It’s not a watch trying to look like an archival reference, nor is it a concept piece with no practical anchor.
Its appeal sits in the middle, where an unusual mechanical display is housed in a case that looks engineered rather than decorated.
An angular case with a layered dial architecture
The Meridion VX01-E measures 41.4mm in diameter and 45.5mm lug-to-lug, giving it a compact footprint despite its assertive geometry.

The case combines brushed, sandblasted and polished 904L stainless steel with grade 5 titanium, shaped into a decagonal form with a pronounced faceted profile.
The independent lugs are fixed to the case body and continue the same angular language, while the crown uses a ridged coin-edge outer section framing a flat octagonal centre.
That crown carries a pixelated horizontal infinity symbol, a small graphic cue that neatly fits the brand’s digital-architectural character.

Water resistance is rated to 120 metres, which gives the watch more everyday credibility than its experimental appearance might suggest.
The dial is offered in charcoal grey, electric blue or silver star, each using a layered construction built around the jumping indication.
At the centre is a granulated section with a crosshair motif, surrounded by a raised ring with circular and diamond-shaped apertures.

Those cutouts reveal either hour digits or dots as the display changes, creating the effect of a dial that has two personalities rather than one static layout.
An AM/PM indication at 11 o’clock alternates between a sun and a moon, giving the complication an intuitive visual anchor.
The disc responsible for alternating the 12-hour and 24-hour indications is coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9, so the face-changing mechanism remains visible after dark rather than becoming a daytime-only trick.

The module behind the changing face
The Meridion VX01-E is powered by an automatic calibre based on the Soprod Newton P092, a 4Hz movement with a full balance bridge, Incabloc shock protection and a 44-hour power reserve.
It also includes hacking seconds for more precise setting, central hours and minutes, and unidirectional winding.
The defining mechanical element is the 12/24-hour jumping module developed by Bruno Herbet.

Every 12 hours, the module changes the dial’s time indication, rotating a disc alternately in one direction and then the other.
That detail matters because it gives the watch more than a decorative complication.
The display transformation is tied directly to the rhythm of the day, moving from a conventional 12-hour reading to a fuller 24-hour expression.

Turn the watch over and the grade 5 titanium caseback is secured by eight screws, with two slightly smoked sapphire windows set behind a metal cross-section.
The arrangement reveals the automatic movement and the sloped casing ring, with the complication module plate also serving as part of the casing architecture.
Straps, bracelet and edition structure
Voxel offers the Meridion VX01-E on an Alcantara strap with a relief pattern of horizontal channels, available in six colours.

The pin buckle follows the angular shape vocabulary of the case, rather than defaulting to a generic fitting.
An integrated 904L steel bracelet is also available, fitted with a spring-mounted butterfly folding clasp.
Both options use quick-release spring bars, making the watch easier to switch between a more technical bracelet look and the softer texture of Alcantara.

The edition is limited to 300 pieces, split across 120 in charcoal grey, 120 in electric blue and 60 in silver star.
Pricing is set at EUR 2,500 before taxes on the Alcantara strap and EUR 2,850 before taxes on the integrated steel bracelet.
Pre-orders are scheduled to open on October 1, 2026, with first deliveries planned from February 2027.

The Meridion VX01-E is the kind of debut that tells you exactly what a brand wants to be, with enough technical substance to keep the design from feeling like pure styling.
For collectors drawn to independent watchmaking at the more accessible end of the market, Voxel’s first move is worth watching closely.
