After titanium, dark and blue interpretations of the UR-150, this version trades technical cool for 2N yellow gold without softening the watch’s angular personality.

A warmer shell for Urwerk’s scorpion silhouette
The UR-150 Golden Scorpion keeps the ergonomic, curved profile of the collection, measuring 42.5mm across, 51mm long and 14.8mm thick.
Those numbers put it firmly in statement-watch territory, but the case architecture is shaped to sit into the wrist rather than simply perch above it.
The 2N yellow-gold case middle and crown give the watch its new character, while sandblasted, microbead-blasted and satin-finished surfaces prevent the gold from feeling overly polished or ornamental.
A domed sapphire crystal opens the view onto the display, and the black PVD-treated Grade 5 titanium caseback keeps the underside lighter and more technical in tone.
The screw-down crown helps deliver 50 metres of water resistance, a practical touch on a watch that’s otherwise built around spectacle and mechanical theatre.
The 240-degree retrograde display remains the main event
The UR-150’s display is one of those Urwerk constructions that rewards a second look.
Three hour satellites rotate around a central flying carousel, with the current hour carried inside a large retrograde minute hand.
That hand sweeps across a broad 240-degree arc before snapping back to its starting point at the end of the hour.
The return takes just one hundredth of a second, with the satellites turning at the same instant to bring the next hour into play.
It’s a dramatic gesture, but not a decorative one, because the entire architecture is arranged around a legible wandering-hour concept.
Super-LumiNova is applied to the hour and minute markers, the flying carousel and the counterweight hand, giving the display a functional night-time presence as well as its daytime choreography.
Inside the UR-50.01 calibre
The Golden Scorpion is powered by the automatic UR-50.01 calibre, pairing a Vaucher base movement with Urwerk’s in-house display module.
It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, uses 38 jewels and offers a 43-hour power reserve.
A double-turbine system regulates winding, a familiar Urwerk solution that adds control to the automatic mechanism.
The movement also uses a dedicated speed regulator to manage the forces created by the rapid retrograde return, with an approach informed by mechanisms more commonly associated with minute repeaters.
Material contrasts play a significant role in the mechanical composition.
The satellite hours are aluminium, the flying carousel is brass with 3N gold PVD finishing, and the retrograde hand is also aluminium with sandblasted and satin-finished surfaces.
The wheels are made using LIGA technology, while the brass rotor is sandblasted and circular-grained.
Grade 5 titanium screw heads are flat-polished, a small finishing detail that fits Urwerk’s habit of making technical elements part of the visual experience.
