Tutima’s aviation watch story reaches back to the early 1940s, but the new Flieger T5 feels aimed squarely at today’s wrist.
The Glashütte brand has taken the familiar language of its modern Flieger Automatics and compressed it into a 38.5mm Grade 5 titanium case, making this one of the more wearable entries in the family.
It’s still a proper pilot’s watch in attitude, with strong lume, a large crown and a direct instrument-style dial, but the proportions and material choice give it a noticeably lighter touch.

At 38.5mm wide and 12.5mm thick, the Flieger T5 sits below the 41mm Flieger Automatics and follows the broader move toward smaller, more balanced sports watches.
The case is made from Grade 5 titanium, a material that suits this brief well because it brings low weight, corrosion resistance and strong everyday durability.
Tutima has kept the finishing practical rather than decorative, with a largely satin-brushed surface and restrained polished accents on the bezel, crown and bracelet centre link.
The crown is large, fluted and screw-down, keeping a visual link to cockpit instruments while helping the watch reach 100 metres of water resistance.
Short lugs should also help the compact case wear as intended, while the sloping bezel leads into a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.
Black or blue lacquer dials with cockpit clarity
The Flieger T5 is offered with either a black or blue lacquered dial, both keeping the layout clean and purpose-driven.
The familiar pilot’s orientation triangle at 12 o’clock is flanked by two dots, while baton hour markers and Arabic numerals keep the dial immediately readable.
Tutima has applied Super-LumiNova to the triangle, markers, numerals and lance-shaped hour and minute hands, giving the watch the nighttime clarity expected from an aviation-inspired model.
The red central seconds hand adds a useful flash of contrast without upsetting the restrained dial design.
A colour-matched date window sits at 6 o’clock, which helps keep the layout symmetrical and avoids the visual interruption that can come with a conventional 3 o’clock date.
The calibre 330 keeps things serviceable
Inside is Tutima’s automatic calibre 330, an ETA 2836-derived movement visible through the sapphire display back.
It runs at 4Hz, uses 25 jewels and offers a 41-hour power reserve, with hours, minutes, hacking seconds and date.
The movement is not trying to be exotic, and that’s part of the appeal for this kind of watch.
It’s a proven, widely understood automatic calibre, dressed here with a rhodium-plated rotor carrying Tutima’s gold “T”.
Bracelet or Horween leather
Tutima offers the Flieger T5 on a three-link titanium bracelet with a folding clasp, matching the lightweight case and giving the watch a cohesive, modern pilot-watch feel.
There’s also a light brown Horween leather strap option for buyers who want a warmer, more vintage-leaning look.
