Danny Trejo’s London story is moving east for autumn, with Trejo’s Tacos now in residence at Puttshack Bank.
The 10-week pop-up launched on 15 September, bringing the actor and restaurateur’s Cal-Mex menu to the City for the first time outside its Portobello Road home.
It’s a neatly judged pairing, with tacos and margaritas meeting Puttshack’s polished, high-energy take on mini golf.

Trejo’s Tacos heads from Portobello Road to Bank
Trejo’s Tacos arrived in London with a two-storey restaurant on Portobello Road, translating the Los Angeles-born concept into a UK setting without losing its Southern California temperament.
The Bank residency gives the brand a second London stage, this time in a social entertainment venue built around after-work crowds, group bookings and competitive nights out.
For Trejo’s, it’s a chance to reach a different rhythm of the capital, less leisurely west London lunch and more City evening energy.

For Puttshack, the collaboration adds a recognisable food name with a menu that’s designed to be passed across the table rather than politely inspected.
Cal-Mex tacos, margaritas and food built for sharing
The menu focuses on Trejo’s crowd-pleasing Cal-Mex staples, with tacos at the centre of the offer.
Options include slow-cooked Carnitas, crispy OG Battered Fish, Spicy Shrimp, Fried Chicken and Mushroom Asada, giving the residency enough range for meat eaters, seafood fans and plant-forward diners.

Sides keep to the same casual, table-filling mood, with Trejo’s Street Corn, Chips & Guacamole and Chips with Assorted Salsa.
The cocktail side is just as important to the experience, with Trejo’s signature margaritas bringing the tequila-led character of the brand into Puttshack’s Bank venue.
Danny Trejo framed the takeover as a full-scale night out, saying the residency brings together tacos, margaritas, movies and mini golf with the same social energy that has defined the restaurant brand.
How Puttshack changes the night out
Puttshack Bank is not the old-school pencil-and-scorecard version of mini golf.
The venue uses Trackaball™ technology to keep score automatically as players move through its interactive holes, removing the administrative part of the game and leaving more room for friendly rivalry.
That detail matters more than it might sound.
It turns the evening into something fluid, where a group can move between cocktails, food and the course without stopping to argue over who missed a shot or miscounted a round.
Trejo’s food fits neatly into that format because it’s informal, quick to share and strong enough in flavour to hold its own in a lively room.
Events bring Trejo’s screen persona into the mix
The residency will also extend beyond food and drinks, with a programme of special events planned across the 10 weeks.
A Day of the Dead celebration is scheduled for Saturday 31 October, adding a cultural focal point to the run.
There will also be an exclusive Danny Trejo film screening, celebrating the Hollywood figure known for roles in Machete, Spy Kids, From Dusk Till Dawn and Heat.
It’s a smart use of Trejo’s dual appeal, part restaurateur and part cult screen presence, without forcing the restaurant concept to become a theme act.
The draw is straightforward enough: recognisable food, proper drinks, a game format that suits groups and a limited run that gives Londoners a reason to book sooner rather than later.
