Squale has introduced the SUB-37 Legend, a compact dive watch built around a 37mm stainless steel case, strong underwater specifications and a simple no-date dial. Priced at EUR 1,650, CHF 1,380 or USD 1,750, it joins the brand’s regular collection as a practical automatic diver with clear vintage cues.
A smaller case with serious dive specifications
The SUB-37 Legend uses a 316L stainless steel case measuring 37mm across, or 38.5mm including the bezel. Thickness is listed at 11.2mm, with a 45.5mm lug-to-lug measurement. Without the crystal, the case is 10.7mm thick.
The compact proportions are paired with proper dive-watch hardware. The watch has a screw-down crown, a screw-in caseback and 300m of water resistance. A box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating is used to evoke the look of older plexiglass crystals while retaining modern durability.
A functional bezel and legible dial
The unidirectional bezel has a domed black K1 glass insert with luminous markings at five-minute intervals. Numerals appear at 15, 30 and 45 minutes, while a triangle marks the zero position.
The matte black dial keeps the layout direct and easy to read. Its markers are outlined in white and filled with Super-LumiNova Old Radium. The marker shapes include a triangle at 12 o’clock, rectangles at 3 and 9, a square at 6 and circular markers for the remaining hours.
A white printed minutes and seconds track frames the dial, while sword-shaped hour and minute hands and a lollipop seconds hand also receive luminous treatment. The no-date format keeps the dial balanced and uncluttered.
Sellita automatic movement inside
The SUB-37 Legend is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement in a no-date configuration. The movement is specified in Elaboré grade, runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides approximately 38 hours of power reserve.
It is a practical movement choice for a tool-focused dive watch, offering familiar specifications while helping keep the overall price in check.
Rubber strap and availability
Squale fits the watch with a black vulcanised rubber strap made in Italy. The Bonetto-style ladder construction is intended to improve flexibility and comfort, particularly in water. The watch has a 20mm lug width and a polished pin buckle measuring 16mm.
The SUB-37 Legend is part of the regular collection and is individually numbered. It is available through authorised retailers and Squale’s online store.
