Spinnaker has returned to Bikini Bottom with a three-watch SpongeBob SquarePants capsule centred on DoodleBob, the chaotic sketch-doppelganger with a magic pencil and a cult following.
It’s a neat fit for a moment when character watches are no longer just novelty items, but entry points for younger collectors who want something personal, irreverent and still mechanically credible.
The collection spans three automatic models, each using a different Spinnaker case shape and a white-heavy dial treatment packed with references to the DoodleBob episode.

DoodleBob is one of SpongeBob SquarePants’ more unhinged creations, an evil pencil-drawn version of SpongeBob brought to life by a magic pencil.
Spinnaker leans into that hand-drawn energy rather than simply placing a cartoon figure on a standard dial.
Across the capsule, the typography is intentionally uneven, the character placement is bold, and the magic pencil becomes a recurring motif rather than a throwaway detail.
The watches also include a small collector twist, as six examples of each variant will receive UV-activated lume graffiti on the dial, creating a rare sub-edition hidden within the broader run.
The Hull California Patty Parade is the loudest of the trio
The Hull California Automatic Patty Parade uses Spinnaker’s 42mm cushion-style stainless steel case and gives the dial a deliberately offbeat California layout.
Roman numerals sit across the upper half, Arabic numerals occupy the lower half, and bar markers at 3 and 9 o’clock keep the composition from feeling too orderly.
DoodleBob appears at 6 o’clock holding the magic pencil, surrounded by lumed Krabby Patties that glow in the dark.
That detail matters because it turns the joke into something functional and tactile, which is where the better character watches tend to succeed.
The Croft Minute Sketch turns the hand into the joke
The Croft Mid-Size Automatic Minute Sketch is the more conventional dive-watch silhouette in the capsule, with a 40mm stainless steel case and 150 metres of water resistance.
Its dial uses circular hour markers and central Mercedes-style hands, but the minute hand is replaced by the magic pencil.
DoodleBob stands at 6 o’clock holding the Spinnaker logo, while “Me Hoy Minoy” sits at 12 o’clock as a direct nod to the character’s signature phrase.
The same character artwork also appears on the rotor of the Miyota 8215 movement, giving the watch a visual payoff through the caseback.
The Fleuss Ripped Reality adds an open-heart twist
The Fleuss Automatic Ripped Reality is the most mechanically expressive model in the set, using an open-heart dial that makes it look as if DoodleBob has torn through the watch face.
The torn-paper effect around the aperture is the key visual move here, adding depth to a design that could easily have felt flat in less careful hands.
It also differs from the other two watches by using a Seiko NH70 automatic movement rather than the Miyota 8215.
A two-tone 60-minute bezel pairs black with a lumed white section, giving the Fleuss the strongest instrument-watch character of the capsule.
