Ming and Massena LAB are returning to a familiar idea, but the new 57.09 Secret Honey is not a simple reprise.
The honeycomb dial that defined their earlier collaboration is back, now reworked as a layered, moving display where colour, lume and pattern shift over time.
It’s a watch built around visual motion rather than added mechanical complication, which feels very much in character for Ming and its increasingly architectural approach to dials.

At a glance
- Ming and Massena LAB have introduced the limited-edition 57.09 Secret Honey.
- The dial uses three rotating sapphire discs to create a shifting honeycomb-style pattern.
- Production is limited to 125 pieces, priced at CHF 7,250 excluding taxes, with orders opening on 15 October 2026.
A honeycomb dial designed to move
The 57.09 Secret Honey follows the 2021 Ming x Massena LAB 17.09 Honey and 17.09 Black, which established the collaboration’s use of a honeycomb motif.
This time, the idea is more kinetic.
The dial starts with a dark brown lacquered base with circular brushing, then adds three sapphire discs with anti-reflective coatings.

Those discs rotate at different intervals, completing a full turn every 24 hours, 12 hours and 60 minutes respectively.
Each disc carries its own colour and aperture pattern, so the dial’s geometry changes as the openings overlap.
MING describes the resulting effect as “dynamic guilloché,” a fitting term for a surface that behaves less like a fixed decoration and more like an optical system.

The 12-hour and 60-minute discs carry the honey-coloured hour and minute indications, with orange-emitting Super-LumiNova adding glow after dark.
A second luminous layer sits above, with the indices and the MING and Massena LAB logos engraved into the box-style sapphire crystal and filled with MING Polar White.
The fifth-generation Ming case gets a three-tone twist
The case uses Ming’s fifth-generation design language, seen in recent models such as the 57.05 Comet, 57.04 Iris and 57.04 Phoenix.

Its most distinctive feature is the triple-stepped lug construction, here used to create a three-tone effect.
The outer step remains natural grade 5 titanium, the middle step is coated in TiN to recall yellow gold, and the inner step is coated in TiSiN as a nod to rose gold.
The intermediate element beneath the bezel is also TiN-coated, tying the case back to the honeyed tones of the dial.

It’s an unusual execution, and not a simple one, with each lug made from nine individual components.
The case measures 40mm across, 10.17mm thick and 47.8mm lug-to-lug, with sapphire crystals front and back and water resistance rated to 100 metres.
A polished concave bezel gives the watch a sharper frame without crowding the layered dial beneath it.

Movement, straps and release details
Inside is the Ming 330.M2, a Sellita-based movement sharing architecture with the SW330 GMT.
That architecture helps explain the three dial discs rotating across 24-hour, 12-hour and 60-minute cycles.
The movement is personalised with skeletonised bridges, brushed finishing and anthracite coating, and it runs at 4Hz with a stated power reserve of about 50 hours.

The watch is supplied with two straps, giving the Secret Honey a dressier and more casual side out of the box.
The first is a vachetta-coloured goat leather strap by Jean Rousseau Paris for MING, while the second is a black FKM rubber strap.
Both are fitted with a stainless-steel flying-blade tuck buckle with micro-adjustment.

The 57.09 Secret Honey is likely to speak most clearly to collectors who follow Ming’s dial experimentation as closely as its case design.
It takes a familiar collaborative motif and turns it into something more restless, using movement not to add another hand, but to change the watch’s character throughout the day.
