Seiko’s latest PADI watch lands at the intersection of dive-watch history, accessible tool-watch appeal and a long-running ocean-focused partnership.
The Prospex PADI 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Ref. HBB002K1 uses the much-loved Turtle case as its foundation, then adds a commemorative blue dial, a ceramic bezel and a second strap for life beyond the bracelet.

The HBB002K1 is built around Seiko’s rounded Turtle silhouette, a case shape that has become one of the brand’s most recognisable diver profiles.
Its crown sits at 4 o’clock, keeping the watch visually familiar while helping reduce interference with the wrist during active use.
The blue dial takes its cue from PADI’s 60th anniversary identity, with a subtle globe motif running across the surface.
Red accents on the central seconds hand and the “Diver’s 200 m” text above 6 o’clock bring contrast without making the watch feel overly decorated.
The unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a blue ceramic insert, a useful upgrade for a diver that’s likely to see knocks, saltwater and regular wear.

Seiko and PADI’s connection has a natural historical symmetry.
Seiko introduced the 62MAS, Japan’s first diver’s watch, in 1965, while PADI was founded the following year to raise standards in recreational diving education.

The stainless steel case measures 45 mm across and 13.2 mm thick, placing it firmly in modern Seiko diver territory.
A curved sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating sits above the dial, while a magnifying lens improves date visibility.
The screw-down crown and screw-down caseback help deliver 200 metres of water resistance, with the watch compliant with ISO standards for diver’s watches.
Lumibrite on the hands and indexes keeps the display readable in low light and underwater, which is exactly where a watch like this needs to earn its keep.
Bracelet, silicone strap and limited availability
Seiko supplies the HBB002K1 on a stainless steel bracelet with a triple-folding clasp, safety lock, push-button release and wetsuit extension.
A black silicone strap is also included, carrying the full “Professional Association of Diving Instructors” wording.
Its accordion-style construction is designed to expand over a diving suit, which makes the second strap more than a cosmetic extra.
