RGM Gives Its Model 151 Pilot Watch a Snoopy Flying Ace Dial

RGM Watch Company is better known for old-school American watchmaking than pop culture cameos, which makes the Model 151 Snoopy Flying Ace an unexpected shift in tone.

The new watch brings Snoopy’s aviation alter ego into RGM’s clean pilot-style case, with a choice between a grand feu enamel dial and a more accessible painted metal dial.

It’s playful, but it still speaks the language RGM has spent decades refining in Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1992 by Roland G. Murphy, RGM has built its identity around traditional watchmaking in the United States.

The brand produces roughly 400 watches a year and has long focused on crafts such as engine turning, hand finishing, movement decoration and in-house calibre work.

That background gives the Snoopy Flying Ace a different character from many cartoon-dial watches.

Rather than feeling like a novelty dropped onto a generic case, it sits within a familiar RGM framework, using the Model 151 as the canvas.

The case measures 38.5mm across and is offered in stainless steel or CP2 titanium, with a thin bezel that leaves plenty of room for the dial artwork.

Thickness is 9.9mm for the painted-dial version and 10.6mm for the enamel model, while water resistance is rated to 50 metres.

Snoopy, enamel and a proper pilot layout

The headline version is the white grand feu enamel dial, made through repeated layers of enamel fired at high temperature.

RGM presents it as the first true grand feu enamel dial to show Snoopy as the Flying Ace, complete with goggles, clouds and the famous red doghouse.

The dial uses a two-level construction, giving the illustration more presence without overwhelming the watch’s primary function.

Large Arabic numerals and luminous sword hands keep the layout legible, which matters on a design that still draws from pilot-watch codes.

For buyers who want the same character at a lower price, RGM also offers a matte light-blue metal dial with printed Snoopy Flying Ace artwork.

It doesn’t have the craft intensity of enamel, but it keeps the watch charming and considerably more approachable.

The Sellita-powered engine inside

Both versions use the Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement, a slim Swiss calibre often treated as an alternative to the ETA 2892-A2.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a stated power reserve of approximately 52 to 56 hours.

RGM finishes the movement with rhodium plating, Côtes de Genève and perlage before casing it near the brand’s Mount Joy workshop.

The watch is paired with a Hirsch Performance strap, combining leather with a rubber lining for a more practical daily-wear feel.
