Back-to-school season in Doha is getting a more playful setting this year.
Msheireb Properties has launched the fourth edition of School Checklist, Back to School 2026 at Msheireb Galleria, turning practical school preparation into a ten-day family experience built around games, learning and giving back.
The event runs daily from 20 to 29 August, from 4.00pm to 10.00pm, on the first floor of Msheireb Galleria.

A back-to-school quest in Msheireb Galleria
The 2026 edition reframes the annual school-preparation ritual as an interactive journey rather than a simple shopping trip.
Children begin at registration, where each receives a career hat linked to a future profession, including firefighter, doctor, engineer, police officer, farmer and postal worker.
From there, families move through a series of themed stations, completing challenges, collecting stamps and working toward a final reward.

It’s a smart format for younger visitors because the familiar checklist becomes something tangible and playful, with each stop adding a small sense of progress.
Partner-led learning across the programme
School Checklist brings together a broad mix of government, education and community partners.
Participating organisations include the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Msheireb Museums, Logiscool, Karwa Academy, the Sustainable Development Goals Ambassadors Center, Jamm Studios and Qatar Charity.

Each partner hosts a station shaped around a learning-based game connected to its area of expertise.
The main stage adds another layer to the programme, with daily partner segments, science shows, workshops, storytelling sessions and children’s performances.
Noora Al Qubaisi, Communication and Public Relations Manager at Msheireb Properties, described the initiative as part of the company’s commitment to community experiences that combine learning, play and family participation in the heart of the city.

Donation lockers bring purpose to the final stop
The charitable element is woven directly into the children’s route.
After completing their checklist, participants receive a key to a locker at the collection and donation station.
Inside, they find a gift marking the end of their journey, then leave a school supply donation in its place.

Items collected during the ten-day event will be directed to students and families in need in collaboration with Qatar Charity.
The idea gives the experience a useful emotional rhythm, moving children from play to generosity without making the donation feel like an afterthought.
Arcade games, food vendors and school essentials
Beyond the main quest, families can spend time in an arcade area and choose from participating food and beverage vendors.

A stationery station offers school supplies, back-to-school packs and donation packs for children who want to contribute as part of the experience.
Msheireb Galleria’s wider retail mix also gives families a chance to complete practical preparations before the academic year begins.
For Msheireb Downtown Doha, the event reinforces the district’s role as more than a retail address, positioning the Galleria as a community meeting point during one of the busiest family moments of the year.

By pairing education, entertainment and charitable giving, School Checklist gives the back-to-school season a more considered setting, one that should appeal to parents looking for a purposeful outing as much as children looking for a reason to play.
