MING’s latest 37-series watch looks close to home for its defining detail.
The 37.06 Royal Selangor brings together two Kuala Lumpur names, pairing MING’s compact titanium case architecture with a hammered pewter dial made by Royal Selangor, the historic pewter house founded in 1885.
It’s a small-run release, but it has a wider significance for the brand, with the full production run assembled in Kuala Lumpur.

A Kuala Lumpur dial with real material character
Pewter isn’t a familiar dial material in modern watchmaking, which is exactly what gives the 37.06 Royal Selangor its pull.
Royal Selangor’s cast pewter is a tin-based alloy, close to 97 per cent tin and strengthened with copper and antimony.
Here, it has been worked into a finely hammered dial that brings warmth, uneven reflection and a tactile quality to MING’s usually graphic visual language.
The material won’t tarnish or corrode, though it will take on a soft patina over time, giving each dial the chance to shift gently with wear.
That sense of craft carries into the packaging, with the watch presented in a hammered pewter box designed by MING and made by Royal Selangor.
Titanium proportions keep it firmly in the 37-series family
Beyond the dial, the watch stays within MING’s established 37-series format.
The grade 2 titanium case measures 38mm across and 11.05mm thick, with a 44.73mm lug-to-lug measurement and an all-brushed finish.
At 35.9 grams for the watch head, it should remain light on the wrist, while 100 metres of water resistance gives it more everyday range than the artisanal dial might suggest.
The blue-grey goat leather strap is made by Jean Rousseau and fitted with curved quick-release spring bars.
MING has also specified a flying-blade tuck buckle with micro-adjustment, a practical touch that suits the brand’s habit of refining the wearing experience rather than relying solely on visual novelty.
The MING SW300.M1 inside
The 37.06 Royal Selangor uses the MING SW300.M1, an automatic calibre with hours and minutes only.
The movement measures 25.6mm in diameter and 3.6mm thick, with approximately 50 hours of power reserve.
Finishing includes open-worked and rhodium-plated elements, visible beneath a caseback engraved with both MING and Royal Selangor marks.
It’s also notable that final assembly takes place in Kuala Lumpur, making this the first MING collaboration to be assembled locally in full production.
