Lamborghini’s newest police car isn’t a publicity sketch or a static showpiece.
The Italian State Police has taken delivery of a Temerario Polizia, bringing the brand’s latest hybrid supercar into a fleet used for high-priority services across the country.
It continues a relationship that began more than 20 years ago and has become one of the most recognisable links between Italian performance engineering and public service.

At a glance
- Lamborghini has handed over a new Temerario Polizia to the Italian State Police.
- The police-spec supercar uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain producing a combined 907 hp.
- It will be used for priority duties including emergency transport of organs and medical supplies.
A Sant’Agata handover with a serious brief
The Temerario Polizia was presented at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, with Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann handing the car to Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.
For Lamborghini, the moment is part of a long-running institutional partnership rather than a one-off ceremonial gesture.
The car will be reserved for the most important services, including rapid transport of organs and medical supplies where time is critical.

That role gives the Temerario Polizia a purpose beyond spectacle, even if the visual impact is impossible to ignore.
Hybrid V8 performance in police colours
The Temerario Polizia wears a dedicated two-tone police livery and is fitted with roof-mounted flashing lights.
Underneath the uniform sits Lamborghini’s new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain.

The combustion engine produces 789 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque, with three electric motors adding a further 148 hp and 221 lb-ft.
Combined output is rated at 907 hp, placing this police car in rare company even by supercar standards.
The figures matter because the car’s assignment is not simply ceremonial, but built around urgent mobility over long distances when specialist transport is required.

Two decades of Lamborghini police cars
The collaboration between Lamborghini and the Italian State Police dates back to 2004, when the first Gallardo entered service.
It was followed by the Gallardo LP 560-4 and later the Huracán, while an Urus Performante joined the fleet in 2023.
Across more than 20 years, six Lamborghini vehicles have entered State Police service.

Those cars have taken part in more than 200 organ transport missions across Italy, making the programme more than a national curiosity.
They also appear at road safety education events, where a Lamborghini in police livery has a way of getting attention before the first word is spoken.

The Temerario Polizia is an unusually vivid example of a supercar being folded into a practical public role.
It will draw crowds wherever it goes, but its most important work will happen when the lights are on and the cargo in question can’t wait.
