KARTY LLC has picked up Visa’s FinTech Innovation Award at a pivotal moment for Qatar’s payments market.
The recognition follows the launch of KARTY’s Visa card through its mobile app, giving users a licensed fintech route into everyday digital payments, wallet funding and spending tools.
For a market moving quickly toward cashless services, it’s a notable step from a homegrown payments startup.

At a glance
- KARTY LLC has received Visa’s FinTech Innovation Award following the launch of its Visa card in Qatar.
- The KARTY app lets users open an account, load funds, pay globally where Visa is accepted and manage spending from one place.
- The company is licensed by the Qatar Central Bank, registered with the Qatar Financial Centre and available on iOS and Android.
A local fintech card with global reach
KARTY’s latest milestone is tied closely to its Visa card, which is available directly through the KARTY app.
Users can open an account, add money to their digital wallet and use the card internationally anywhere Visa is accepted.
The card also gives customers access to KPoints, KARTY’s rewards programme, with points redeemable inside the app.

For international spending, KARTY is positioning competitive exchange rates as part of the appeal, particularly for users who want clearer control when paying outside Qatar.
Money management built into the app
KARTY’s pitch isn’t limited to payments at checkout.
The platform combines wallet services with budgeting tools, spending insights, virtual cards, subscription management and rewards.

That wider approach matters because digital wallets are increasingly expected to do more than hold funds or process card transactions.
The app is designed to give users a more immediate view of how money moves, where recurring payments are going and how everyday spending can be organised.
KARTY is also preparing Visa Subscription Management, a feature that lets users view and stop recurring subscription payments from within the app.

It’s a practical addition at a time when streaming, software, delivery and membership payments can quietly stack up across multiple cards and services.
Recognition from Visa as Qatar’s digital economy grows
The Visa FinTech Innovation Award recognises KARTY’s role in expanding digital payments and personal finance tools in Qatar.
The company is licensed by the Qatar Central Bank and registered with the Qatar Financial Centre, giving its consumer product a regulatory footing as it moves deeper into public use.

Mohammed Suleiman, Co-founder of KARTY LLC, said, “We started KARTY with a simple idea: people should have a clearer view of their money and better tools to manage it. This award recognises the work that has gone into building this application and the success it’s had with our customers. It motivates us for our next steps.”
Luca Bianconi, Visa’s VP and Country Manager for Qatar, said, “Qatar’s digital economy is accelerating at an extraordinary pace with a growing base of digitally savvy consumers who expect more from payments and financial services. We are proud to recognise KARTY and remain committed to supporting the innovators and institutions that are shaping Qatar’s digital future.”
KARTY has also achieved PCI-DSS certification, a key cyber security standard for companies handling card payment data.

The company says its app is among the top-rated applications on Qatar’s iOS App Store, while availability on both iOS and Android gives it the reach needed to grow beyond early adopters.
For KARTY, the award arrives as it works to turn a strong launch into broader everyday adoption, with payments, budgeting and subscription control sitting at the centre of its consumer proposition.
