The Habring² x SJX Chrono Felix Perpetual “Star” is a compact independent watch with a surprisingly elaborate brief.
It closes a planned trilogy between Austrian watchmaker Habring² and SJX, the Singapore-based watch magazine founded by Su Jiaxian, while bringing together the star motif of the Erwin “Star” and the monopusher chronograph format associated with the Chrono-Felix “Medicus”.
This time, the familiar Habring² chronograph architecture is paired with a perpetual calendar, making the watch more technically dense without losing the restrained proportions that define much of the brand’s work.

At a glance
- Habring² and SJX have created a 30-piece Chrono Felix Perpetual “Star” as the final watch in their planned trilogy.
- The watch combines a monopusher chronograph, perpetual calendar and glossy black gilt-style dial with eight applied gold star hour markers.
- It is priced at USD 28,500 before taxes, with deliveries scheduled for January and February 2027 in order of purchase sequence.
A star dial for a serious calendar chronograph
The watch is based on the Habring² Chrono Felix Perpetual, itself an evolution of the brand’s monopusher Chrono Felix.
The case is stainless steel with brushed and polished finishing, measuring 38.5mm across and 13mm high.
Those dimensions are notable because the watch carries both a chronograph and a perpetual calendar, a combination that can easily push a case into bulkier territory.

Part of the visual management comes from a triple-stepped bezel, which helps absorb the extra height required by the perpetual calendar module.
The same bezel architecture also incorporates recessed pushers used to adjust calendar indications, a consequence of working with a modular perpetual calendar construction.
The dial is where this edition separates itself most clearly from the regular model.

SJX has chosen a glossy black lacquered base with gold-plated details across the markers, hands, tracks and moon phase disc.
Even the moon phase display, more often rendered in dark blue, is gold-plated here, with a frosted moon face for contrast.
The sub-dials are slightly recessed and finished matte with a concentric texture, giving the display some depth against the polished black ground.

The eight applied gold stars used as hour markers are the visual signature, taking inspiration from the Rolex ref. 6088 Galaxy.
It’s a bold choice on a dial already carrying a great deal of information, but the star markers give the watch its identity rather than simply adding decoration.
How the indications are arranged
The dial layout uses the available space efficiently, with the moon phase and 30-minute chronograph counter positioned at 12 o’clock.

The date sits at 9 o’clock, the day of the week at 3 o’clock and the month with leap year indication at 6 o’clock.
Leaf-shaped central hands indicate the hours and minutes, while the chronograph seconds hand runs from the centre.
The result is an unusually expressive version of a traditional complicated wristwatch, with gilt detailing softening the technical density of the display.

It’s not a minimalist perpetual calendar, and it isn’t trying to be one.
The appeal is in the mix of Austrian independent watchmaking, a classical complication and a dial treatment with a distinct collector reference point.
The A11CP movement and module construction
Inside is the calibre A11CP, which combines Habring²’s A11 chronograph base with a Dubois-Depraz perpetual calendar module.
The module has been customised for the monopusher chronograph layout and to reduce the number of separate calendar correctors.
One practical detail is that the crown operates correction of the day of the week.
The A11 chronograph base is a substantial evolution of the Valjoux 7750 architecture, with many components upgraded and produced either in-house or by independent suppliers.
The movement runs at 4Hz and has a 48-hour power reserve when fully wound.
The finishing includes steel chronograph levers finished by German independent watchmaker Pöhlmann-Bresan, giving the movement a more considered visual character than its industrial starting point might suggest.
