Girard-Perregaux has introduced a new Laureato Chronograph 42mm that leans into the collection’s 1970s character with a restrained two-tone execution in 904L steel and rose gold.
Limited to 50 pieces, the watch combines a brown Clou de Paris dial, matching textured rubber strap and the manufacture GP03300 automatic chronograph movement visible through a sapphire caseback.
A Laureato case with rose gold in the right places
The 42mm case keeps the Laureato’s familiar tonneau profile and octagonal bezel, but the material mix gives the architecture more warmth than a full-steel model.
Girard-Perregaux uses 904L steel for the case body, a corrosion-resistant alloy known for taking a particularly crisp polish, while the bezel, crown and chronograph pushers are rendered in rose gold.
At 12.16mm thick and water resistant to 100 metres, it remains a practical integrated-style sports chronograph rather than a purely decorative anniversary piece.
The brown hobnail dial sets the tone
The dial is the strongest visual move here, with a brown Clou de Paris hobnail pattern that gives the surface depth without turning it into a loud statement.
Rose-gilt baton markers and matching hands keep the colour palette coherent, while luminous material on the markers helps preserve the Laureato’s everyday usability.
The brown rubber strap repeats the same hobnail texture, creating a neat link between dial and strap that makes the watch feel more resolved than a simple metal-and-gold exercise.
Inside the GP03300 automatic chronograph
Behind the sapphire back is Girard-Perregaux’s Calibre GP03300-2761, a self-winding manufacture movement running at 4 Hz with a minimum power reserve of 46 hours.
The calibre measures 25.60mm across and 6.50mm thick, and its 419 components and 63 jewels support chronograph, hours, minutes, small seconds and date functions.
Finishing is a major part of the appeal, with circular graining, Côtes de Genève, bevelled edges, mirror polishing, satin brushing, engraving, sunburst finishing and snailing all visible through the caseback.
Limited production and collector positioning
The Laureato Chronograph 42mm two-tone is priced at €26,500 and will be produced in just 50 pieces.
That makes it a narrow-run proposition for collectors who already understand the Laureato’s place in the integrated sports-watch landscape, but want something warmer and less predictable than the standard steel formula.
Its appeal lies in the way it balances nostalgia and discipline, using rose gold sparingly, texture carefully and mechanical finishing visibly rather than relying on two-tone contrast alone.
