Eccentrica Turns the Lamborghini Diablo Roadster Into a 208 MPH V12 Restomod

The Lamborghini Diablo Roadster has always been one of the great Nineties poster cars, all wedge, theatre and V12 menace.

Eccentrica Cars has now given that silhouette a modern restomod treatment with the Eccentrica V12 Roadster, revealed during Monterey Car Week and set for a showing at The Quail.

It isn’t simply a trim refresh or a nostalgic body kit, either. The San Marino company says the car has been comprehensively re-engineered with more than 3,500 unique components.

The Roadster follows the Eccentrica V12 coupe that appeared in 2024, and the family resemblance is clear.

The familiar Diablo proportions remain, but the underlying construction has been brought into the restomod era with a carbon-fibre-reinforced chassis and a body made from steel and carbon fibre.

That mix matters because the Diablo is a car people remember as much for its physical presence as its performance.

Eccentrica appears to be keeping the drama intact while replacing much of what sits beneath the skin.

V12 character with modern control

At the centre of the Eccentrica V12 Roadster is a 5.7-litre V12 producing 550 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

The engine is paired with a six-speed gated manual gearbox, a detail that will likely matter as much to collectors as the power figure.

Eccentrica claims a top speed of 208 mph, putting the Roadster firmly in serious supercar territory rather than simply relying on nostalgia.

The hardware around the drivetrain has also been updated, with semi-active suspension, hydraulic power steering and modern brakes all part of the package.

That combination suggests a car designed to retain analogue involvement without asking owners to live with every compromise of a 1990s exotic.

A 19-car run for the Monterey collector crowd

Only 19 examples of the Eccentrica V12 Roadster will be produced.

That number gives the car immediate rarity, but its appeal is more specific than scarcity alone.

This is a machine for collectors who want the emotional charge of a Diablo Roadster with contemporary engineering, sharper usability and the tactility of a manual V12.

Monterey Car Week is a fitting stage for that pitch, particularly The Quail, where restored icons, coachbuilt specials and low-volume performance cars all compete for the same kind of attention.
