The Denza Z9 GT was already one of the more improbable performance EVs coming out of China, a large electric shooting brake with power figures that read like supercar copy.
Now it has become harder to ignore.
The new e3 Flash Charge trim starts at 329,800 yuan, roughly $49,000, while keeping the same 1,140 hp tri-motor layout used by the pricier Performance variant.

At a glance
- Denza has introduced the Z9 GT e3 Flash Charge in China at 329,800 yuan, or about $49,000.
- It retains the 1,140 hp tri-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain and a quoted 0-62 mph time of 2.8 seconds.
- The lower price comes through equipment changes, including cast-iron brakes in place of carbon-ceramic hardware.
A lower price without losing the headline powertrain
The key point is that Denza hasn’t detuned the Z9 GT to reach the lower price.
The e3 Flash Charge still uses a 230 kW front motor and two 310 kW permanent-magnet motors at the rear, giving the car all-wheel drive and a combined 892 lb ft of torque.
Denza quotes 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, which puts the Z9 GT in rare company regardless of body style or badge.

That performance looks especially aggressive when viewed against the new entry price, which undercuts the Performance version by around 40,000 yuan, or about $6,000.
Where Denza has trimmed the specification
The saving comes from reducing equipment rather than changing the core electric drivetrain.
Most notably, the e3 Flash Charge swaps the Performance model’s carbon-ceramic brakes for ventilated cast-iron discs.

Some of the more extravagant cabin equipment has also been removed, positioning the e3 as a more rational way into the Z9 GT lineup rather than a stripped-out performance special.
For many buyers, that trade-off may be easy to justify, particularly when the acceleration and output remain unchanged.
Technology that still matters in daily use
Denza has kept its DiPilot 5.0 driver-assistance suite on the e3 Flash Charge, which is a meaningful inclusion at this price point.

The system includes city navigation on autopilot and automated parking, preserving much of the car’s high-tech positioning despite the lower starting figure.
That matters because the Z9 GT isn’t merely chasing drag-strip numbers.
Its appeal sits in the mix of luxury EV practicality, extreme straight-line performance and the increasingly advanced driver-assistance technology now defining China’s premium electric market.
