Czinger has brought the 21C into open-top territory with the debut of the 21C Spyder at Pebble Beach.
It’s not simply a roof-off styling exercise, either.
The Spyder carries over the coupe’s tandem seating, hybrid V8 powertrain and radical manufacturing philosophy, then adds the theatre that comes with an exposed cockpit and an 11,000 rpm engine note.

At a glance
- Czinger has revealed the 21C Spyder, an open-top version of its 21C hypercar, at Pebble Beach.
- Power comes from a 2.88-liter twin-turbo V8 and two electric motors for a combined 1,250 hp.
- Czinger claims 0-62 mph in 1.9 seconds and a 205 mph top speed.
An open 21C with a radical chassis underneath
The 21C Spyder is built around what Czinger calls its BioLogic chassis, a structure made using additive manufacturing and combined with a carbon fiber monocoque.
Together, the chassis structure weighs just 276 lbs, which is a striking figure for a car designed around extreme performance and open-air use.
The approach is central to Czinger’s identity, with the California marque using advanced manufacturing not as a design talking point but as the backbone of the vehicle itself.

The Spyder also introduces a redesigned braking system in which brake assembly elements are integrated directly into the suspension.
Hybrid V8 power with an 11,000 rpm ceiling
At the heart of the 21C Spyder is a 2.88-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 750 hp and revs to 11,000 rpm.
That combustion engine is paired with two electric motors, with one mounted on the front axle and another crankshaft-mounted Motor Generator Unit adding electric assistance.

The electric hardware contributes a further 500 hp, taking total system output to 1,250 hp.
Czinger claims the Spyder can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 1.9 seconds and continue to a top speed of 205 mph.
Tandem seating keeps the 21C identity intact
The Spyder retains the 21C coupe’s 1+1 tandem seating layout, placing the passenger directly behind the driver rather than alongside them.

That configuration gives the car a narrow, aircraft-like stance and remains one of the clearest visual distinctions between the 21C and more conventional hypercars.
At Pebble Beach, where new performance cars often compete for attention through scale and spectacle, the Czinger stands apart through packaging, manufacturing and the sheer extremity of its engineering brief.

The 21C Spyder should appeal to collectors who want more than another high-output hybrid, because its interest lies as much in how it’s made as in how quickly it goes.

With its compact V8, electric assistance, tandem cabin and additively manufactured structure, it remains one of the more technically distinctive hypercars to appear on the Pebble Beach lawn.
