BYD’s newest large sedan has landed with the sort of numbers that make the luxury EV establishment look over its shoulder.
The Seal 08 has attracted 65,000 orders in just over 30 hours, helped by full-size proportions, serious performance claims and a starting price of 196,900 yuan, or about $28,980.
For a 5.15-metre sedan pitched at the premium end of the market, that combination is difficult to ignore.
