Bulova’s Accutron line is leaning deeper into the technology that made it different in the first place.
For 2026, the collection adds two watches built around the modern Calibre Y230 tuning-fork movement, including a revived Alpha 314 and a Spaceview 314 now offered on a vintage-inspired steel bracelet.
It’s a focused release for enthusiasts who care as much about the sound and sweep of a movement as they do about case shape or dial colour.

At a glance
- Bulova expands the Accutron collection for 2026 with the Alpha 314 and a bracelet version of the Spaceview 314.
- Both watches use the hand-assembled Calibre Y230 tuning-fork movement with a 360 Hz frequency and smooth seconds-hand motion.
- The Alpha 314 is priced at €5,100 / US$5,990, while the Spaceview 314 is priced at €5,300 / US$6,390.
A tuning-fork movement with real lineage
Accutron’s original significance dates to 1960, when its electronically driven tuning fork replaced the conventional balance wheel.
The result was a movement known for accuracy, a distinctive hum and an unusually smooth seconds hand, arriving before quartz would reshape the watch industry.
Bulova revived that approach in 2025 with the Calibre Y230, a hand-assembled movement that recreates the original principle while using modern materials and manufacturing methods.

In these two new watches, the tuning fork vibrates at 360 Hz and produces the characteristic F-sharp hum associated with Accutron.
Bulova states that the movement achieves accuracy within two seconds per day.
Silicium and Elinvar are used in the construction, with the stated aim of improving efficiency and durability.

The Alpha 314 returns with an asymmetric case
The Accutron Alpha 314 is the more sculptural of the two watches, with a shield-shaped case inspired by historical Accutron designs.
Its 904L stainless steel case measures 38 mm across and 13 mm thick, with a bi-finished surface and two different lug styles that give the watch its off-centre character.
That case shape is the main event here, but the open dial keeps the mechanics firmly in view.

A silver-tone chapter ring carries dot-shaped hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova, while the matching hands also receive luminous treatment.
The domed sapphire crystal gives the display a period-appropriate softness while revealing movement finishing that includes anglage, perlage, Côtes de Genève and frosted surfaces.
Bulova pairs the Alpha 314 with a padded black Italian calfskin strap and a foldover deployant clasp with double push-buttons.

The Spaceview 314 gains a Coffin Link bracelet
The Spaceview has long been defined by its open dial, and the 2026 update keeps that identity intact.
The change is at the bracelet, where Bulova adds a vintage-inspired 904L stainless steel design to the 39 mm Spaceview 314.
The bracelet uses a “Coffin Link” layout, with hexagonal links associated with watch design from the 1960s and 1970s.

Brushed and polished surfaces are used to complement the case, while the articulated construction is designed for a comfortable fit.
The case measures 13.4 mm thick and has straight lugs, with the crown positioned at 4 o’clock.
The green open dial remains, matched with a green chapter ring, luminous hour markers and luminous hands under a domed sapphire crystal.

As with the Alpha 314, the appeal is partly visual and partly tactile, since the exposed movement, smooth seconds hand and audible hum all contribute to the experience.

Taken together, the Alpha 314 and Spaceview 314 show Bulova treating Accutron less as nostalgia and more as a distinct mechanical-electronic niche.
The Alpha 314 will speak to collectors drawn to unusual case architecture, while the bracelet-equipped Spaceview 314 gives the open-dial design a stronger period feel without losing the technical theatre that defines the line.
