BMW M and the Nürburgring have been intertwined for decades, so the circuit’s 100th anniversary was never going to pass quietly in Munich.
The result is a six-car anniversary collection spanning some of the brand’s most recognisable performance models, each wearing a track-inspired treatment that feels more purposeful than decorative.
It’s a neat moment for BMW to lean into its racing identity without creating an entirely new model line.

At a glance
- BMW has created a “100 Jahre Nürburgring” anniversary collection for six M models.
- Each car receives Nürburgring Green paint, model-specific graphics and a special Nordschleife-themed logo.
- The M3 and M5 editions open for European orders this month, with the M2 following in January 2027.
Nürburgring Green across six M models
The “100 Jahre Nürburgring” lineup covers the M2, M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupe, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring.
All six cars are finished in an exclusive Nürburgring Green paint, giving the collection a clear visual link to the circuit and its forested Eifel setting.
For buyers who want the anniversary hardware without the full green exterior, BMW will also offer Black Sapphire Metallic.

The cars are further marked out by model-specific graphics, green detailing and a dedicated “Nürburgring since 1927” emblem incorporating the silhouette of the Nordschleife.
That last detail is the most direct nod to the circuit’s defining character, the long northern loop that still shapes the reputation of serious performance cars.
Roof stripes and anniversary cabin details
BMW has extended the anniversary theme over the roof with a stripe package tailored to each body style.

On the M2, M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe and M5 Sedan, the stripes sit across the optional carbon-fibre roof.
The M3 Touring and M5 Touring use the same graphic approach on their standard steel roofs, which keeps the visual identity consistent across the estate models.
Inside, the cars move to black upholstery with contrasting green and white stitching.

The inline-six models add an M Alcantara steering wheel with matching stitching and a red 12 o’clock marker, a detail that suits the track reference without feeling forced.
The M5 versions receive their own anniversary-themed M steering wheel.
Ordering timing in Europe
BMW will begin taking European orders for the M3 and M5 anniversary editions this month.

The M2 edition follows later, with ordering set for January 2027.
No separate availability timing has been confirmed here for the M4 Coupe, though it remains part of the six-car anniversary family.
The collection should appeal most to BMW M loyalists who value factory special editions tied to a genuine performance landmark rather than a purely cosmetic trim package.

For BMW, the strongest part of this anniversary set is its restraint.
The cars don’t need theatrical mechanical claims to make sense, because the Nürburgring connection is already baked into the M story.
