The 2027 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC lineup is getting a little simpler, with the Track Pack Special Edition no longer part of the range.
It was the expensive, more visually distinctive take on the already track-focused Mustang, and its removal changes the way the Dark Horse SC is positioned for buyers looking at the upper end of the car’s pricing.
Ford Authority identified the change, which leaves the standard Dark Horse SC and the regular Track Pack version as the key reference points for 2027 pricing.

At a glance
- Ford is dropping the Track Pack Special Edition from the 2027 Mustang Dark Horse SC lineup.
- The discontinued package added carbon-fibre exterior parts, dark graphics, a black-painted roof and red-accented cabin upgrades.
- The 2027 Mustang Dark Horse SC now starts at $108,485, while the regular Track Pack version is listed at $144,985.
A cleaner Dark Horse SC range for 2027
The Track Pack Special Edition sat above the regular Track Pack as a more exclusive configuration, but it also added a serious premium.
It was available alongside the 970A High Package and added $31,980 to the bill.
That pushed a fully equipped Special Edition to $175,965, a figure that placed it well above the regular Track Pack version.
With the Special Edition removed, the 2027 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC starts at $108,485, while the regular Track Pack version costs $144,985.
What the Special Edition added
The appeal of the Track Pack Special Edition was largely visual and specification-led rather than a separate performance claim.
On the outside, the package brought a black-painted roof, Race Red Brembo brake calipers for the carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-fibre exterior parts and dark-finished graphics.
Inside, it added Solar Red Recaro seats, red-striped seat belts, titanium paddle shifters and special serialised dashboard badging.
There were also ordering limitations, which made the package narrower in scope than its price might suggest.
It couldn’t be combined with the Teal Accent Package, and the black roof was available only with Oxford White paint.
The price gap now stands out
The removal of the Special Edition makes the Dark Horse SC lineup easier to understand from a buyer’s perspective.
The gap between the standard car and the regular Track Pack remains substantial, but the former top-end configuration no longer stretches the model toward the $176,000 mark.
For collectors and Mustang buyers who value rare trims, the discontinued package may still be notable for its serialised dashboard badging and its specific colour-and-trim treatment.
For new 2027 buyers, though, the decision reduces the number of high-cost appearance and equipment combinations to navigate.
