A low-slung electric sports car has been spotted testing on public roads in China, and the clues are pointing strongly toward Xiaomi’s next performance project.
The car is still under heavy camouflage, but its proportions and hardware don’t leave much room for modest expectations.
If the rumoured output is close to reality, Xiaomi could be preparing a two-door EV aimed less at everyday premium sedans and more at the new generation of electric hypercars.

Large alloy wheels fill the arches, and the visible brake calipers suggest Xiaomi is preparing the car for far more than straight-line acceleration runs.
None of this confirms final performance figures, but the prototype’s hardware points toward a machine designed around high-speed stability, braking performance and track durability.
The 2,000 hp question
The biggest talking point is power.
Industry chatter suggests the car could use an uprated version of Xiaomi’s quad-motor electric layout, with output potentially exceeding 2,000 hp.
That would place it in rare territory, where electric performance cars compete less on traditional sports-car metrics and more on extreme power delivery, traction control sophistication and battery cooling.
For Xiaomi, such a model would also be a statement of engineering ambition.
The company has already moved quickly into the EV conversation, and a two-door halo car would give its automotive division a sharper identity at the top end of the market.
