September is a useful moment to reset the collector’s calendar, particularly if your interests move between vintage watches, independent brands and the occasional automotive distraction.
This month’s watch diary ranges from a London event built around horology and modern classics to auction dates worth marking for the rest of the year.
There’s also a free-entry watch giveaway with one of Tissot’s most distinctive PRX executions as the prize.

Driven By The Dial brings watches and cars together in London
Driven By The Dial is built around a simple idea that still has plenty of energy in it: watch collectors and car enthusiasts often speak the same language.
The London event is scheduled for Saturday 19 September and brings together more than 40 independent watch brands, hundreds of pre-owned luxury watches and over 25 modern classics and supercars.
It’s a broader day out than a conventional watch fair, with food, drinks and an F1 driving simulator adding to the appeal.

The event grew out of Time London and the A2Z Watch Club, which gives it a community-driven feel rather than a purely trade-show character.
Tickets start from £12, making it an accessible entry point for collectors who want to handle watches in person while taking in a serious dose of automotive culture.
Artcurial lines up an October watch sale
Artcurial remains one of the more interesting European names for collectors who like their watches framed by a wider luxury context.

Founded in 2002, the French auction house operates from Paris, Monaco and Marrakesh, with specialist categories spanning wine, art, jewellery and watches.
Its watch sales tend to cover a broad collecting spectrum rather than a single narrow lane.
Expect everything from retro sports watches by names such as Breitling to more technical or complication-led pieces, including watches from Glashütte Original and F. P. Journe.

The next watch sale is set to run from 20 to 27 October, giving collectors a little time to study the catalogue and decide where the opportunities may sit.
Chiswick Auctions and Watches of Knightsbridge look ahead
For buyers who enjoy the possibility of finding something overlooked, Chiswick Auctions has a particular appeal.
The house combines the atmosphere of a local auction with a watch mix that can include vintage pocket watches, well-priced Cartier pieces, retro chronographs and other collector-friendly lots.
Its next watch auction is scheduled for 18 November 2026.
Watches of Knightsbridge takes a more specialist position in the UK auction scene, with sales that often pair familiar sports-watch staples with more unusual references.
A Rolex Submariner might sit alongside a Rolex Prince, vintage Heuers, LeCoultre moonphase watches and other pieces for buyers who like catalogues with range.
The next sale is planned for 5 December at Michelin House, 81 Fulham Road, London, SW3 6RD, with viewing by appointment.
A free-entry Tissot PRX Damascus giveaway
The Watch Drop’s latest monthly giveaway is focused on the Tissot PRX Damascus, a version of the PRX that stands apart from the standard steel models.
The watch has a 40.5mm Damascus steel case, sapphire crystal and a Swiss automatic movement offering up to 80 hours of power reserve.
Its value is listed at nearly £1,000, but entry is free.
Participants need to visit The Watch Drop, answer the competition question and enter for the chance to win.
Between the London event, the autumn auction calendar and a giveaway with genuine collector appeal, September offers plenty to follow whether you’re actively buying, casually browsing or simply keeping your eye trained on the market.
