Seiko’s Presage Classic Series has always had a quiet obsession with surfaces, and its latest quartet keeps the focus exactly where collectors expect it to be.
The new 38mm models take their visual cue from Tomioka silk, bringing stamped, guilloché-like dial textures to a size that sits neatly between the collection’s existing 36mm and 40.2mm cases.
There are three regular-production watches and one limited edition, with pricing from EUR 1,030 and availability scheduled for July 2026.

Tomioka silk gives the Presage dial a new texture
The defining feature here is the dial, which uses a stamped pattern to create depth and a subtle guilloché-like effect.
Seiko links the design to Tomioka silk, a Japanese silk associated with Gunma Prefecture and traditional craft.
The limited-edition HCC008 is the most distinct of the four, with a pearl-like coated white dial and a pink-gold-coloured plated stainless steel case.
The three regular-production models take a softer route, with the HCC001 in shironeri white, the HCC002 in wakatake-iro green and the HCC003 in sakura-iro pink.
Applied baton markers keep the dials restrained, allowing the texture and colour to do most of the work.
A 38mm case fills the gap in the collection
The new case measures 38mm across and 12.9mm thick, giving the Presage Classic Series a middle size between the smaller 36mm three-hand models and the larger 40.2mm date-display watches.
That matters because Presage has often appealed to buyers who want Japanese craft cues without moving into oversized dress-watch territory.
The HCC001, HCC002 and HCC003 use stainless steel cases with Seiko’s super-hard coating, while the HCC008 adds pink-gold-coloured plating for a warmer look.
All four watches have a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, a see-through screwed caseback, magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m and 100 metres of water resistance.
Calibre 6R51 keeps the layout clean
Inside the four watches is Seiko’s in-house calibre 6R51, an automatic no-date movement running at 21,600 vibrations per hour.
It offers hours, minutes and seconds, with hacking seconds and a 72-hour power reserve.
The absence of a date window suits the project, leaving the dial uninterrupted and giving the silk-inspired texture more room to breathe.
The HCC001 and HCC002 come on stainless steel bracelets with Seiko’s super-hard coating and a deployment clasp with push-button release.
The HCC003 and HCC008 are fitted to dark brown leather straps with three-fold clasps and push-button release, using leather from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries.
Seiko ties the HCC008’s strap colour to the brick facade of the Tomioka Silk Mill, while the HCC003’s strap takes its cue from the trunk of a cherry tree.
