Panerai Gives the 44mm Submersible a Steel Bracelet with the PAM01756

Panerai’s Submersible line has become the brand’s clearest expression of the modern dive watch, distinct from the more historically styled Luminor and Radiomir families.

With the new Submersible PAM01756, the update is easy to understand but significant in feel, as the 44mm model now comes on a stainless steel bracelet for the first time.

The dial keeps the layout direct, with a black sunbrushed surface, applied hour markers and openworked hands filled with white Super-LumiNova.

A small seconds display sits at 9 o’clock, balancing the dial without adding visual clutter.

Panerai has chosen a no-date display for the PAM01756, which suits the watch’s tool-watch personality and gives the dial a cleaner, more mission-focused appearance.

Legibility is the point here, and the combination of high-contrast markers, broad luminous hands and a restrained layout keeps the watch easy to read by day or night.

Inside the automatic P.980 movement

Behind the solid caseback is the calibre P.980, an automatic movement produced by ValFleurier.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 72-hour power reserve from a single barrel, making it practical for a weekend off the wrist.

The movement also uses a traversing balance bridge for stability and includes stop-seconds, allowing more precise time setting.

For a contemporary Submersible, that combination of robustness, autonomy and straightforward functionality feels well matched to the watch’s character.
