Oris Social Club Edition II Gives the Aquis Date Relief a Global Brief

The Oris Social Club has grown from a local gathering point into a worldwide network, and its second dedicated watch reflects that shift.

The Oris Social Club Edition II uses the Aquis Date Relief as its foundation, then gives the dive watch a softer, more community-minded personality through a frosted silver dial, a special caseback and an olive green NATO strap.

It’s still a serious 300-metre Aquis, but the details are more personal than technical posturing.

That change matters because the Oris Social Club now counts 62 chapters around the world, turning what began as a local enthusiast initiative into a broad international network.

Oris has engraved the stainless steel back with an outline of its factory in Hölstein, alongside the markings “OSC | INT”, a small but direct nod to the watch’s international remit.

The Aquis Date Relief becomes more relaxed

The watch keeps the architecture of the Aquis Date Relief, including its 43.5mm stainless steel case, 51mm lug-to-lug span and 13.1mm thickness.

Its unidirectional rotating bezel uses a stainless steel insert with the diving scale rendered in relief, one of the more recognisable touches in the modern Aquis family.

That bezel gives the watch a tougher, almost tool-like edge, while the frosted white-silver dial pulls it in a more tactile direction.

The olive green NATO strap is one of the most interesting decisions here.

Oris hasn’t presented an Aquis Date on a NATO strap for more than a decade, and the change gives this 43.5mm diver a noticeably more casual stance.

It also helps separate the Social Club Edition II from the many bracelet-led Aquis models, making it feel less like a conventional dive watch purchase and more like a club watch that happens to be genuinely capable underwater.

The case remains water-resistant to 300 metres, with a screw-in security crown and a domed sapphire crystal carrying internal anti-reflective coating.

Oris 733 movement and everyday usability

Inside is the Oris Calibre 733, an automatic movement using the Sellita SW200-1 architecture.

It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, has 26 jewels and delivers a 41-hour power reserve.

The functions are straightforward, with central hours, minutes and seconds, an instantaneous date, a date corrector and stop-seconds for precise setting.

That keeps the watch aligned with the practical Aquis formula, rather than turning the Social Club Edition II into a decorative exercise.
