Nomos has given the Metro line a cooler, sharper read with two new ice blue dial variants.
The update lands on two of the collection’s most date-focused models, the compact Metro Date Power Reserve and the larger Metro Neomatik 41 Update.
Both keep the urban graphic character that has defined the Metro since Mark Braun designed the family in 2014, but the new colour changes the mood from playful city map to crisp contemporary instrument.

At a glance
- Nomos has introduced metallic ice blue dials for the Metro Date Power Reserve and Metro Neomatik 41 Update.
- The 37mm Date Power Reserve receives the new hand-wound DUW 4701 calibre, while the 40.5mm Neomatik 41 Update keeps its automatic DUW 6101 with peripheral date display.
- Both watches are stainless steel, water resistant to 50 metres and fitted with sapphire display backs, with pricing still to be confirmed.
A cooler take on Mark Braun’s Metro language
The Metro has always sat slightly apart from the stricter side of Nomos design.
It still carries the brand’s lean Glashütte minimalism, but Braun’s 2014 design brought in colour, off-centre balance and a clear nod to transit graphics.
That character remains intact on these ice blue editions.

The dials are galvanised light blue with a metallic finish, giving the small details more contrast without pushing the watches into decorative territory.
On the Date Power Reserve, teal, light blue and white appear across the power reserve display, while grey numerals and teal hour dots keep the dial crisp and legible.
On the Neomatik 41 Update, the same palette is applied more sparingly, with teal markers framing the active date on the outer ring.

The Date Power Reserve gains a new hand-wound movement
The Metro Date Power Reserve remains the purist’s choice in the pair.
Its 37mm polished stainless steel case is slim at 8mm, with wire lugs, a narrow bezel and a domed sapphire crystal that keep the watch light on the wrist.
The asymmetric dial layout is central to its appeal.

The power reserve display sits between 12 and 1 o’clock, the Nomos signature is shifted to 9 o’clock, and the small seconds and date aperture are positioned at 6 o’clock.
The important mechanical change is the move to calibre DUW 4701, a new generation manual-winding movement developed for this layout.
It measures just 2.8mm high, offers a 52-hour power reserve and includes a quick-set date function.

The display back shows the familiar Nomos finishing language, including sunbeam ribbing on the three-quarter plate, perlage, gold-toned engravings, blued screws and a skeletonised balance cock revealing the brand’s blue Swing System hairspring.
That escapement remains historically significant for Nomos, as the first Metro Date Power Reserve introduced the Swing System in 2014 and helped establish the brand’s independence in one of watchmaking’s most technically guarded areas.
The Neomatik 41 Update makes the date graphic
The Metro Neomatik 41 Update takes the collection’s visual rhythm in a different direction.

At 40.5mm wide and 9.1mm thick, it has more dial space, and Nomos uses that room for its patented peripheral date display.
Rather than placing the date in a conventional window, the watch shows the entire month around the edge of the dial.
Two teal markers indicate the current date, turning the complication into part of the watch’s graphic architecture.

The ice blue dial is matched with grey Arabic numerals, white hour dots and a recessed small seconds sub-dial with a light blue hand.
The rhodium-plated hour and minute hands stay extremely slim, preserving the airy look that has made the Metro one of Nomos’ most distinctive modern designs.
Inside is the automatic DUW 6101, a slender in-house Neomatik calibre with an integrated date mechanism, stop seconds and up to 50 hours of power reserve.
